CASHIER/CREW MEMBER

Be Part of the Action at El Paso International Airport! Our Cashiers are the face of the guest experience at Schlotzsky's, Tia's, and Slice inside El Paso International Airport! Every day brings something new as you welcome travelers, airport employees, families, and guests from all over the world. Whether you're greeting guests in person, taking orders, working the counter, or helping a traveler grab a quick meal before their flight, you'll play an important role in creating a great airport experience. As a Cashier, you will: Welcome every guest with a friendly, positive attitude and exceptional customer service. Take orders accurately and efficiently while providing menu recommendations and answering questions. Prepare drinks, assemble orders, and ensure guests receive everything they need. Process payments accurately and responsibly. Keep the restaurant looking clean, organized, and inviting. Restock straws, napkins, condiments, and other guest supplies. Maintain clean tables, counters, drink stations, and lobby areas. Sweep, mop, and assist with maintaining a safe and sanitary environment. Work as part of a fast-paced team where communication and teamwork are essential. We're looking for team members who are energetic, dependable, friendly, and ready to make a difference. Requirements:
Essential Functions:
Answer guest questions regarding menu, pricing, and other related questions. Operate a cash register. Accept payment via cash, credit card, or gift card/certificate and make change when appropriate. Balance cash drawer and open and close according to restaurant and cash handling procedures. Calculate appropriate discounts to determine price. Maintain appropriate portion control according to Fresquez standards. Wrap or bag food for guests. Take and complete drink orders for guests. Food preparation. Maintain proper food handling standards. Stocks restaurant and lobby area as needed. Maintain restaurant cleanliness. Other duties as required or assigned.
Qualifications:
Must possess a positive, helpful attitude and work well with other team members. Must be able to work unsupervised. Be able to reach, bend, stoop and frequently lift up to 25 pounds. Be able to work in a standing position for long periods of time (up to 8 hours). Must be able to communicate clearly with managers, other personnel, and visitors. Be willing to follow directions and ask questions for clarification if needed.

Work Environment:
This job operates in a busy restaurant environment. This role routinely uses a cash register, handles cash, restaurant equipment and appliances. Employees in this role are frequently exposed to hot water, potentially slippery floors, garbage disposals and cleaning chemicals. Noise level is moderate to loud.

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. This position requires constant standing. All positions may require constant, frequent, or occasional: standing, walking, lifting, sitting, carrying, pushing, pulling, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, crawling, reaching, handling, grasping, feeling, talking, hearing, repetitive motions, eye/hand/foot coordination. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work:
This is an hourly position. Scheduled hours vary by restaurant needs, including necessary adjustments made during high and low seasonal changes. Typical days and hours of work for this position are Monday-Sunday 4am-10pm or later (varying shifts). Other days/hours and holidays required as needed or assigned.
Required Experience:
Cashier, cashier handling, or crew member experience. Knowledge and understanding of relevant food safety and sanitation laws, principles, procedures, and practices. Ability to read and comprehend primary language spoken at the work location.
Work Authorization/Security Clearance:
Satisfactory completion of a pre-employment drug screening. Satisfactory completion of a criminal background check. Satisfactory completion of a background check in accordance with the Transportation Security Administration (TSA).
Language Ability:
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business rules and technical procedures. Ability to clearly and effectively communicate information and respond to questions from management and team members. Other (Secondary)
Responsibilities:
Assist with other restaurant functions including other assigned duties as needed. Must be able to fill in as needed.
