The ideal candidate will excel in providing exceptional customer service, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a welcoming shopping environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth store operations and enhancing the overall customer experience. Prior experience with POS systems and retail sales is preferred, along with strong communication skills and a positive attitude. Duties Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately and quickly Greet customers warmly and assist with their purchases Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and security Maintain knowledge of store products Upsell items to increase sales opportunities while ensuring customer satisfaction Assist with merchandising, stocking shelves, and organizing displays to promote products effectively Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and ensuring a positive shopping experience Support in supervising or guiding new team members if applicable Maintain cleanliness and organization of the checkout area Engage in basic retail math for balancing cash drawers and reconciling sales at shift end Qualifications Previous experience with cashiering, POS systems, or retail sales preferred Strong communication skills and phone etiquette Bilingual abilities are a plus to assist a diverse customer base Demonstrated ability to perform basic math accurately for cash handling and retail calculations Experience in grocery stores or similar retail environments is advantageous Ability to upsell products tactfully to enhance sales opportunities Supervising experience is a plus for leadership roles within the team Excellent customer service skills with a friendly, professional demeanor Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment while maintaining attention to detail
