The ideal candidate will excel in providing excellent customer service, handling transactions accurately, and maintaining a welcoming shopping environment. This role is essential in ensuring smooth store operations and enhancing the overall customer experience. Previous experience with POS systems, cashiering, and retail sales is preferred. Bilingual skills are a plus to assist a diverse customer base. The Cashier will also be involved in product demos, upselling, merchandising, stocking, and ensuring proper cash handling procedures are followed. Responsibilities Operate POS systems efficiently to process sales transactions accurately Greet customers warmly and provide exceptional customer service Handle cash, credit, and debit card payments with precision and integrity Assist customers with product inquiries and provide product demos when needed Promote sales through upselling and suggestive selling techniques Maintain cleanliness and organization at the checkout area Support merchandising efforts by stocking shelves and organizing displays Ensure proper phone etiquette when assisting customers via phone or in person Assist with inventory management and stock replenishment as required Uphold store policies and ensure compliance with safety standards Experience Previous cashiering experience in a retail or grocery store environment preferred Familiarity with POS systems and basic retail math skills Strong communication skills and ability to handle customer interactions professionally Experience supervising or leading a team is a plus but not required Bilingual abilities are advantageous for serving a diverse clientele Knowledge of merchandising, product demos, upselling, and stock management is beneficial Ability to perform basic math accurately for transactions and inventory counts This position offers an engaging work environment where excellent communication skills, attention to detail, and a passion for retail sales are valued.
