Job Description

The Raleigh market is one of the fastest growing markets in the United States and the Carolina Hurricanes are poised to capitalize on that growth to drastically expand sponsorship revenue. The Hurricanes are seeking a Vice President of Corporate Partnerships. Reporting directly to the CEO, the VP will design and execute a comprehensive revenue growth strategy through corporate partnerships. The VP will lead our partnership sales and activation teams and will be tasked with driving revenue growth for the organization and increasing market share compared to other NHL franchises.
Key Responsibilities:
Revenue Leadership:
Lead and oversee corporate partnership sales for the Carolina Hurricanes and Lenovo Center. Consistently perform in the top half of the NHL in corporate partnership revenue.
New Target Partner Identification:
Identify and build new relationships with businesses that are not current partners with the Hurricanes or Lenovo Center, leading to new long-term partnerships.
Partner Retention and Growth:
Maintain and expand relationships with existing corporate partners of the Hurricanes and Lenovo Center.
Innovative Partnerships:
Develop outcome-based partnerships that deliver measurable impact for our partners while strengthening the Hurricanes brand. Solve problems and create new opportunities for corporate partners, and make the Hurricanes relationship a critical component of partner business strategies.
Team development and leadership:
Teach and develop sales and retention team members. Focus on building top talent through internal training and external hires when needed.
Goal Setting:
Set clear, attainably aggressive revenue targets while working closely with sales leaders to attain those goals.
Owner/Executive Team:
Collaborate closely with the owner and executive management to align strategies, identify partnership gaps and forecast future growth.
Internal Collaboration:
Work collaboratively with marketing, ticket sales, arena operations and the Hurricanes Foundation teams to build meaningful partnership opportunities.
Ambassador:
Serve as a public-facing executive leader for the Hurricanes in community partner building.
Requirements:
10+ years of sales leadership experience in sports, entertainment, or relatively similar business. Proven track record of building and scaling partnership revenue at a high level. Track record for continuously creating and executing new sales opportunities. Experience building and leading cross-functional teams with the unified mission of delivering for clients while driving revenue. Proficiency with Sales CRM platforms. Competitive - you have a drive to set the highest standard possible. Must pass a criminal background check.
Compensation:
Base salary and team performance-based incentives. Relocation assistance. Comprehensive health and wellness benefits.
