Job Description

Door-to-Door Canvasser — Overview Roofing Overview Roofing is hiring a Door-to-Door Canvasser to join our outreach team. This is a 100% field role — boots on the ground in residential neighborhoods, knocking doors and getting free roof inspections booked for our team. The Vibe We're a relaxed, results-only company. We don't care if you work one hour a day or ten. We don't care if you take Tuesdays off, knock in the morning, or wait until after lunch to get going. If you hit your numbers, you run your own schedule — period. If you're a producer, you've got the freedom to do this job your way. We're not here to micromanage adults. We're here to get results. What You'll Do You'll spend your day walking assigned neighborhoods, knocking doors, and having real conversations with homeowners about their roofs.
The goal is simple:
get a free, no-pressure inspection booked on the calendar. You're the first face of Overview Roofing — the person who breaks the ice, builds trust, and gets the conversation started.
Day to day:
Knock doors in assigned neighborhoods and start friendly conversations with homeowners Pitch our free, no-obligation roof inspection Handle common objections without being pushy Book inspection appointments directly on the team calendar Capture complete homeowner info at the door — name, address, phone, insurance carrier, scheduled time Log every door worked in our CRM, including no-answers and not-interesteds Follow neighborhood etiquette, no-soliciting rules, and local ordinances Quick weekly check-in with the team lead to keep you growing What This Role Is Not You're not selling roofs. You're not quoting prices, climbing on roofs, or pressuring anyone into anything. Your job is to knock the door, have a good conversation, and book the inspection. Our inspectors and sales team take it from there. Training Your first three days are in the field with our team lead. You'll learn the door approach, how to handle the most common objections, and how to qualify a homeowner properly. After that, you've got your own territory and run your own day — with a weekly one-on-one to keep you sharp. Who Thrives Here This is a dream job for the right person and a nightmare for the wrong one. We're looking for self-starters who can handle the grind of door-to-door work and don't need someone standing over them to stay productive. If you're competitive, comfortable on your feet, and you'd rather be measured on what you produce than how many hours you sat at a desk — you'll love it here. If you need constant supervision, this probably isn't for you. What you'll need: A warm, conversational personality — you genuinely enjoy meeting new people Thick skin — not every door is going to say yes Self-discipline to run your own schedule without anyone pushing you Comfortable working outdoors and on your feet most of the day Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license Smartphone or tablet for logging activity in our CRM Professional appearance and demeanor No prior roofing or canvassing experience required — we'll train you on everything Compensation 100% commission with uncapped earning potential. You're paid per booked inspection, plus a percentage of the commission when one of your appointments turns into an actual job. That means when you set quality appointments that close, you get paid twice — once for the booking and again when the roof gets sold. The harder and smarter you work, the more you make. There's no ceiling. Producers do very well here.
