For decades, they have been delivering critical energy and water infrastructure services to customers around the globe. The Field Energy Canvasser plays a customer‑centric role in expanding participation in utility‑sponsored energy efficiency programs. This position focuses on engaging small business customers through door‑to‑door outreach, educating them on program benefits, and scheduling enrollments for thermostat installations using pre‑approved scripts and documentation. The ideal candidate brings an authentic, positive approach, strong communication skills, and the ability to connect with people from diverse backgrounds while representing the company with integrity and accountability. Duties and Responsibilities Conduct door‑to‑door outreach in assigned small commercial service areas to educate customers on energy efficiency programs and encourage enrollment, demonstrating a customer‑centric and respectful approach at all times. Clearly communicate program benefits, features, and eligibility by maintaining a strong understanding of utility‑sponsored offerings and related technologies. Build authentic rapport with business owners and decision‑makers, actively listening to questions or concerns and providing clear, accurate information to support informed decisions. Identify, document, and qualify potential leads; schedule enrollments or installation appointments in alignment with program requirements and customer needs. Accurately input daily sales activities, customer feedback, and HVAC penetration data to support data‑driven decision‑making and continuous improvement. Collaborate closely with field leadership and management teams to share insights, refine outreach strategies, and improve engagement techniques in an agile environment. Represent the company and its utility partners professionally by adhering to all company policies, safety requirements, ethical standards, and compliance guidelines while working independently in the field. Required Skills & Experience Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to clearly explain technical or program information to a wide range of audiences. A friendly, inclusive, and approachable demeanor with the ability to engage respectfully with people from diverse backgrounds and communities. Self‑motivated and accountable, with the ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and consistently pursue outreach goals. Comfort working in a technology‑enabled, customer‑facing role within the Utilities & Energy sector. Ability to perform duties in a safety‑sensitive role, following all safety protocols and guidelines. Preferred Skills & Experience Previous experience in door‑to‑door sales, customer service, canvassing, or community outreach. Experience using mobile tools or CRM systems to document activities and customer interactions.
