Full Job Description Location:
South Texas, In-District:
-Brownsville (Cameron County) or -Corpus Christi (Nueces County)
Reports To:
Field Director and Deputy Field Director Compensation:
$4,000 per month;
Full-Time Position Start Date:
ASAP; Hiring on rolling-basis Position Summary Organizers will play a critical role in executing the campaign's field program in key regions of Texas' 34th Congressional District. Under direction of the Field Director, and Deputy Field Director, Organizers should expect to function as the predominant coordinators for volunteer activity, assist in the management of the campaign's paid canvassers, perform outreach amongst community supporters and organizations, and regularly participating in Direct Voter Contact via canvassing/phonebanking/texting. Organizers will also be responsible for contributing to the overall success of the campaign as needed and as determined by the Field Dir., Deputy Field Dir., or the Campaign Manager.
Key Responsibilities Direct voter contact:
Perform DVC activities such as canvassing, phone banking, and texting at a proficiency well enough to train volunteers and paid canvassers.
Paid canvass operations:
Assist with the training and supervision of paid canvassers.
Volunteer program:
Recruit, cultivate, and manage volunteers to keep them active and engaged through Election Day via phone, email, and/or text; Launch volunteer canvasses, host in-person and virtual phonebanks.
Events:
Assist with event staffing and turnout as needed; support candidate events and major campaign moments.
Outreach:
Identify and attend relevant events and gatherings of potential volunteers for recruitment.
Data Management:
Assist in creating, distributing, and cataloging DVC turfs and phonebanks via VAN.
Qualifications Experience:
Campaign experience is not required, can be supplemented by experience in Govt. offices i.e. Constituent Services, or customer service experience; a genuine interest in Democratic Party politics;At least some knowledge of VAN and/or experience canvassing is ideal, but not required.
Communication:
Strong written and verbal communication skills; able to give clear direction across a distributed team.
Work expectations:
Willingness to work long hours, evenings, and weekends through Election Day.
Bilingual:
(English/Spanish) is strongly preferred. Local or South Texas residence is a plus but not required. How to Apply Submit a resume with at least two professional references to .
