Job Description

Grassroots Engagement Directors for Citizens for Free Enterprise (CFFE) will be responsible for tracking and reporting on local public policy, organizing and executing grassroots political activities, building relationships with local independent businesses, and mobilizing voters to support the organization's goals and objectives. This position requires strong organizational and communication skills and the ability to work independently and as part of a team. Staff will be responsible for tracking and reporting on local public policy developments, as well as recruiting new members to join the organization. Responsibilities Staff will be assigned depending on location and availability. Duties include, but are not limited to: Manage and organize all CFFE activities in an assigned geographic region. Become an expert on your assigned geographic region. Know the movers and shakers. Understand the political make-up of the town and city councils as well as county governments. Track and report on policy developments at the municipal and county level within the assigned region that could affect CFFE members either positively or negatively. Build and maintain relationships with community leaders, community organizations, grassroots organizations, and independent business owners to identify opportunities for collaboration, coalition-building, and recruitment within the assigned region. Communicate with and educate CFFE members on important public policy issues in their area. Plan and execute grassroots activities to support the organization's goals of voter registration and "Get Out the Vote," including phone banks, canvassing efforts, and voter registration drives. Identify, recruit, train, and manage volunteers to participate in grassroots activities. Monitor the progress of grassroots activities and report on performance metrics to the State Director in a timely and organized manner. Comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Qualifications
Start Date:
ASAP Must reside in Wisconsin or be willing to relocate. Role is hybrid in nature with a heavy emphasis on time outside the main office. 1+ years of experience in political campaigns, issue advocacy work, or public policy. Knowledge of local political landscape and community organizations. Strong organizational, communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills. Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment. Willingness to work occasional weekends and evenings, as needed (mostly in election years). Access to a reliable vehicle and a valid driver's license. Location We are looking for candidates to fill positions in our primary geographic regions: Eau Claire/La Crosse and Wausau/Stevens Point/Rhinelander. Salary and Benefits Salary for this position will be commensurate with experience and qualifications. Benefits may include health insurance, retirement savings, a monthly stipend to cover transportation and other work-related expenses, and time off.
