Canvasser/Team Lead, Milwaukee Area Reports to: Integrated Voter Engagement Director
INTRODUCTION
We're hiring! Civic360 is looking for outgoing and motivated individuals to join our canvassing team in the Milwaukee area. This role involves nonpartisan integrated voter registration and education, community organizing and participation in civic engagement programs around issues impacting communities of color. As a canvasser, you would be responsible for engaging directly with your community and assisting eligible individuals to become registered voters so that they can actively participate in our democratic process. This is a part-time, temporary position that will give you the opportunity to make a meaningful impact in your community. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to: Participate in exciting, purposeful work that will drive change in your community Earn $22 per hour, paid weekly Be paid for holidays, once eligible Earn additional pay if chosen as a driver or a Team Lead Work with no experience requiredPOSITION SUMMARY
As a Canvasser , you will serve in a critical role of working on the front line in helping to advance Civic360's mission through nonpartisan voter registration outreach efforts. This position involves community education and assisting individuals in registering to vote. Candidates with exceptional experience will be considered for Team Lead positions .JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Direct voter engagement, including but not limited to site-based and door-to-door canvassing Participation in community and public events to encourage informed and active voter participation through voter education and direct community outreach Complete and submit all required documentation in compliance with voter registration program Participate in daily check-in team meetings to set goals that work to increase voter participation and engagement Ensure the integrity and accountability of the program and comply with strict quality control protocols Ensure quality control practices that validate that potential voters meets the eligibility requirements Canvasser Team Leads will have additional responsibilities to include: Train and oversee canvassers in the field Motivate and coach canvassers through daily challenges in the field in order to consistently achieve daily and program goals Implement health and safety protocol, including ensuring adequate PPE for all staff and compliance with daily health and safety guidelines during field operations Lead daily canvasser launch (check-in/checkout) Regular reporting to the Integrated Voter Engagement Director (Daily/Weekly)QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE
Successful candidates will have the following: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills Strong willingness to learn and adapt Timeliness in attendance to work and completion of tasks Ability to work in an outdoor environment Willingness to interact with members of the public from diverse backgrounds and communities Flexible availability Willing to comply with strict rules against partisan activities or electioneering during work time Experience using computers/handheld devices and willingness to be trained in voter registration processes, tools and software Access to reliable transportation and cell phoneOTHER QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS
Legal eligibility to work in the United States. A valid driver's license and access to an operational car that is registered and insured are required for Team Leads and Drivers. Willing to comply with all voter registration laws. Prior canvassing, organizing or community engagement experience preferred but not required.LOCATION, COMPENSATION, BENEFITS
