Job Description

Job Title:
Energy Consultant Locations:
Central Indiana/Indianapolis OR Fort Wayne, Indianapolis (Remote Work/Field-Based Travel)
Schedule:
Full-Time |
Monday-Friday Travel:
Local travel required, visiting 2-3 local sites per day (mileage reimbursed)
Position Summary:
Join our team as an Energy Consultant, where you'll play acritical role in helping clients reduce energy consumption, lower costs, and improve building performance. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys a mix of field work, data analysis, and client interaction in a growing sustainability-focused industry. This is NOT a sales role.
Responsibilities:
Lead on-site energy assessments to ensure accurate and complete data collection Evaluate building systems including insulation, windows, HVAC, and air sealing Identify energy loss sources such as air leaks, duct inefficiencies, and thermal gaps Review project scopes to ensure alignment with program guidelines Analyze utility data and building performance trends Develop actionable, cost-saving energy recommendations Prepare detailed audit reports with prioritized upgrades and ROI insights Ensure compliance with BPI standards , local codes, and energy programs
Skills & Qualifications:
BPI Certification (required) Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently Comfort using tablets, mobile apps, and reporting tools Excellent communication skills with a client-facing approach Nice to Have (not required): Experience in project management Knowledge of energy efficiency programs and measures
Work Environment & Perks:
Field-based role with flexibility—work remotely while conducting site visits Paid training (1 week in Indianapolis, hotel provided for non-local hires) Mileage reimbursement at $0.725 per mile (GSA rate) Opportunity to contribute to sustainability and energy-saving initiatives Work with a collaborative team passionate about innovation and efficiency Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Indianapolis, IN. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $40.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
