Job Description:
The Service Specialist (SS) is responsible for greeting and checking in members and guests as they enter the club. The SS will answer phones and sell retail products at the front desk. The SS will assist the Club Manager (CM) with updating member information, collecting member debt, and maintaining a professional and welcoming environment at the club. The SS will frequently need to assist the CM with organizing, cleaning, and stocking the club. Job duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to:- Having a customer first attitude. Greeting every member with a welcoming smile and be willing to help at all times.
- Check in all members using the member information system upon entry to the club.
- Answer phones
- Assist with member account issues
- Assist members with access to club amenities; E,g., Classes, Hydro Chairs, Tanning etc.
- Upholding company standards; maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Assist with cleaning the club equipment, floors, restrooms, desks, etc.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Experience with customer service preferred.
- Experience with health and fitness preferred.
- Must be able to communicate effectively with members and other club personnel.
Certifications/Education Level:
- High School Diploma or GED preferred, but not required.
- First Aid, Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) and Automated External Defibrillator (AED) certification recommended.
Physical Qualifications:
- Ability to work in club office; move about club floors and rooms; review, revise, create club paperwork; communicate with employees, members and the public.
Travel:
must have reliable transportation to and from work.- Ability to access and operate club computer systems including prepare documents, enter data into computer system, read reports from a computer data base or email system.
- Ability to lift heavy weights of at least 45 pounds and other heavy objects for the purposes of club maintenance.
Work Environment:
- Ability to work a varied schedule to support the needs of the club, including frequent extended workdays, and weekends and holidays may be required.
