https://www.instagram.com/wellsacstate/ The WELL on the campus of Sac State is seeking to hire one student to work part-time as a Student Supervisor of Member Services. This position is responsible for assisting with the overall management of The WELL Front Desk and Engagement Center, ensuring smooth daily operations and excellent customer service. The student will be required to maintain consistent communication with all student employees and professional staff members, helping to lead and support the Member Services team. Conditions of Employment This is a part-time, temporary, non-benefited, student position. Employment in all positions with University Enterprises, Inc. is dependent upon the mutual consent of University Enterprises, Inc. and the employee. This means that either University Enterprises, Inc. or the employee can, at any time, terminate the employment relationship at will, with or without cause. Depending on the type of position you are applying for, a pre-employment background check consisting of one or more of the following may be conducted: employment history, professional references, criminal check, educational verification (degree, license, or official transcript), or driver clearance. UEI employees who are considering leaving their current UEI Student assistant position for a different UEI student assistant position should inform their supervisor in writing and provide at least a week's notice. Prerequisites Students working at the University Union or The WELL must be attending classes at Sacramento State during the regular term (Fall, Spring), and enrolled in a minimum of nine (9) semester units for undergraduate students or six (6) semester units for graduate students. Majors/Fields of Study Any Major Work Schedule Shifts available Monday-Sunday. Schedule varies. Additional Work Schedule Student Assistant and Graduate Assistant employees generally work up to 20 hours per work week (Sunday - Saturday) during the academic year and up to 40 hours per work week during breaks; (winter, spring & summer). Minimum Qualifications Must maintain a minimum cumulative 2.0 GPA. CPR/First Aid certification (can be completed within 60 days of hire). Preferred Qualifications Current WELL employee. Personable, outgoing, hard worker, passionate. Excellent communication and problem solving skills.Personal computer proficiency in:
Word, Excel, PowerPoint. Ability to multi-task, take directions and work in a team environment. Knowledge of Microsoft Windows Operating systems (Including Windows XP and Windows 7). Knowledge and general troubleshooting ability for Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook. Ability to document resolutions to problems/issues for future reference. Cash handling experience. Demonstrated experience with Fusion or any type of member management software. Some knowledge of recreation and/or the fitness industry. Excellent multi-tasking and organizational skills. Duties and Responsibilities Assist in the daily operations and staff management of the Member Services division, including the Front Desk and Engagement Center. Perform Front Desk Attendant or Member Services Lead duties when needed to support operations. Provide basic maintenance and troubleshooting of Front Desk and Engagement Center devices. Assist with response to customer service issues, facility incidents, and emergencies. Support retail inventory management, including product tracking and restocking. Respond promptly to customer service issues, facility incidents, and emergencies. Assist in departmental budget development and strategic planning initiatives. Support the recruitment, interviewing, hiring, training, and evaluation of Front Desk Attendants and Member Services Leads. Develop and maintain weekly/monthly/semesterly staff schedules, including shift coverage, breaks, adjusted hours, and changes. Delegate responsibilities effectively to maximize staff efficiency and performance. Document and assist in resolving employee conflicts professionally and confidentially. Ensure all Front Desk and Engagement Center staff complete required training and are supported in their roles. Help plan and facilitate staff meetings, onboarding sessions, and ongoing trainings. Lead presentations or discussions during staff trainings as needed. Attend pre-semester training sessions and all scheduled staff meetings throughout the semester. Collaborate with other program supervisors to support the successful operation of Campus Recreation programs. Deliver exceptional customer service to all WELL members and staff. Educate members on the use and benefits of the Online Membership Portal and the Union WELL Inc. mobile app, and assist with related questions. Assist in the implementation and analysis of member surveys related to the Front Desk, Engagement Center, and lobby experience. Maintain clear and consistent communication with staff using Connect2, Slack, and email. Complete and submit accurate incident and accident reports as required. Responsible for weekly communication to the Member Services team, providing updates on building operations, programs, services, and new features to ensure staff are informed and aligned. Ensure all staff follow established risk management procedures and safety protocols. Review and assess existing policies, procedures, and programs to recommend improvements and future development. Perform other duties of a similar nature as assigned by the immediate supervisor. Physical Requirements Sit for extended periods; frequently stand and walk; manual dexterity and hand-eye coordination; corrected hearing and vision to normal range; verbal communication; use of office equipment including computer workstations, telephones, calculators, copiers, printers and scanners with or without a reasonable accommodation. Working Conditions Work is performed either in a gym or office environment or a combination of the two. Continuous contact with staff and patrons.
