Job Description

YMCA Lowell Membership Representative Lowell, MA Apply The YMCA Lowell Branch is currently seeking candidate to fill afternoon shifts from 1pm 5/6pm, evening positions from 5/6 pm 10pm and Sunday positions form 8am-12pm and 12pm-4pm. Additional hours may be available to cover shifts.\
POSITION SUMMARY:
\ This position supports the work of the Y, a leading non-profit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Provides information and assistance to all constituents that access the YMCA. Provide customer relations that contribute to member retention, satisfaction, and growth.\ ESSENTIAL
FUNCTIONS
\
  • Greet incoming calls and visitors. Develop and maintain a friendly rapport with members and create a positive experience to all who associate with the YMCA.\
  • Provide detailed information regarding membership, programs, information on payments, credit/refund policies, schedules, costs, waiting lists, camps, and child
  • care options. Give prospective members facility tours.\
  • Check all membership cards to ensure effective facility access. Monitor guest access to facility and maintain sign in logs.\
  • Process membership payment, enrollments, or program registration. Ensure that all forms are completed and legible.\
  • Respond to member needs and concerns in a courteous and member focused manner. Provide solutions or locate supervisory staff to ensure member satisfaction. Advise members of the comments/suggestion procedures to ensure member feedback is reviewed and addressed.\
  • Maintain facility cleanliness. Remove clutter, trash and equipment from member areas as required. Maintain focus and awareness of all member interactions and ensure a positive experience.\
  • Participate as a member of the staff team in preparing materials/copies for promotions, special events or annual support campaigns.\
  • Maintain clean and neat appearance. Wear name tag and or YMCA clothing.\
  • Perform other related duties required.

QUALIFICATIONS:
\
  • Minimum of 18 years of age.\
  • Prior experience in working with the public preferred.\
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.\
  • Ability to communicate via telephone and in person.\
  • Ability to remember and communicate a variety of complex programs.\
  • Computer skills including windows and Microsoft office.

  • The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
