This role is paying $50,000-$65,000, depending on experience. This highly visible role leads membership development, new member onboarding, engagement, retention, and membership communications. The Director will serve as a key ambassador for The Saturn Club—building relationships with prospective and current members, creating meaningful connections, and ensuring members feel welcomed, engaged, and valued throughout their Club experience. Working closely with the General Manager, Club leadership, and committees, the Director of Membership & Engagement will combine personalized hospitality with strategic outreach, creativity, and data-driven decision-making to support the continued growth and vibrancy of the Club. Key ResponsibilitiesMembership Development & Growth Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective members from initial inquiry through the application and admission process. Develop and execute membership growth strategies through personalized outreach, referrals, events, partnerships, and community engagement. Maintain an active prospect pipeline and provide consistent, high-touch follow-up. Conduct Club tours and create welcoming experiences for prospective members. Build relationships with local businesses, community organizations, alumni groups, real estate professionals, and other potential referral partners. Represent The Saturn Club at networking events and throughout the greater Buffalo community. Guide candidates and sponsors through the membership process in accordance with Club Bylaws and policies. New Member Onboarding & Engagement Create a thoughtful onboarding experience from acceptance through a member's first year. Personally welcome new members and introduce them to Club traditions, amenities, programs, activities, and fellow members. Coordinate new member orientations, receptions, and other opportunities for connection. Learn members' interests and proactively connect them with relevant programs, committees, events, and people. Maintain regular contact with new members to encourage participation and strengthen their connection to the Club. Member Engagement & Retention Develop initiatives that increase member participation, satisfaction, and long-term retention. Maintain a visible and approachable presence throughout the Club and at key member events. Monitor member engagement and proactively reconnect with inactive or less-engaged members. Assist with surveys, focus groups, and other member feedback initiatives. Conduct thoughtful outreach to members considering a leave of absence or resignation and identify retention opportunities when appropriate. Marketing & Communications Serve as staff liaison to the Membership and Marketing Committees and participate in Club newsletter planning. Maintain Club communications across the website, member portal, Instagram, LinkedIn, email, newsletters, and digital displays. Develop engaging membership, event, and promotional content while maintaining consistent Club brand standards. Maintain accurate prospective member materials, onboarding resources, and membership communications. Collaborate with Club leadership to ensure events, programs, and membership opportunities are communicated accurately and effectively. Membership Administration & Strategy Maintain accurate and confidential membership and prospective member records. Manage membership applications, CRM records, prospect follow-up, and related documentation. Track membership inquiries, admissions, engagement, resignations, and other key performance indicators. Prepare regular reports and recommendations for the General Manager and Club leadership. Assist with membership planning, budgeting, forecasting, and annual goal setting. Qualifications 3+ years of experience in private clubs, hospitality, membership sales, business development, relationship management, or a similar environment preferred. Bachelor's degree in hospitality, communications, marketing, business, or a related field preferred. Exceptional interpersonal, relationship-building, and communication skills. Professional, polished, approachable, and comfortable engaging with a wide range of personalities. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple relationships and priorities. Experience with CRM or membership databases, email platforms, social media, and standard business technology. Strong understanding of hospitality and personalized service. Familiarity with the Buffalo community and an established local network is a plus. Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment. Willingness to work occasional evenings and weekends based on Club events and member activity. Compensation & Benefits Base Salary:
