PRIMARY FUNCTION
The Membership Services area is the heart of the Club. This space creates a first impression for youth, parents, staff, volunteers, and community partners. The Membership Services Specialist is responsible for ensuring safety and professionalism at the Clubhouse entrance, including managing first impressions for all clients (youth/parents/community) and spearheading parent communications and engagement. Under the direction of the Senior Branch Director, the Membership Services Specialist is also responsible for maintaining accurate membership records and attendance data for all Club programs.
JOB FUNCTIONS
Works 29 hours per week, Monday - Friday. Collects and maintains accurate membership records and attendance data for all Club programs under MyClubHub software. Handles front desk responsibilities, including signing up new members, monitoring foot traffic, maintaining safety and security, answering phones, and supporting parent and volunteer interactions. Develops positive, productive relationships with youth and families. Manages assigned programs and necessary reporting. Promotes and markets programs to youth, families and community members. Enhances and stewards community partnerships to support ongoing programs. Maintains positive, productive relationship with teachers and administrators at partner schools.
RELATIONSHIPS
Internal :
Maintains close, daily contact with Club staff (professional and volunteer), Club members, and supervisor to receive/provide information, discuss issues, explain guidelines/ instructions; instruct; and advise/counsel.
External :
Primary point of contact for Clubhouse visitors. Maintains contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.
REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
Bilingual (Spanish-speaking) Some college preferred Prior experience in youth development, preferably with Boys & Girls Clubs Demonstrated ability to work in a fast-paced environment and to balance multiple priorities simultaneously Strong organization skills, interpersonal ability, and attention to detail Solid working knowledge of youth development principles and guidance techniques, including experience working directly with youth Prior administrative/clerical experience Creativity and flexibility are a must Willingness to adhere to approved organizational policies and procedures Ability to pass a drug test and criminal background check Proficiency using computers and Microsoft Office suite applications
