This individual will assist members with processing transactions, such as deposits, withdrawals or payments, resolving complaints or account discrepancies and answering questions. To succeed as a Member Service Representative, candidates should maintain a professional appearance, have a member focused attitude and should be courteous, helpful, accurate, and dependable. Many employees in many different positions started out as a Member Service Representative. Company benefits include health (Avera Health Plans) with options of co-pay and high deductible plans to choose from. The high deductible plan has an optional Health Savings Account which has a company match. The benefits package also includes dental (Delta) and vision (VSP) plans. The company provides basic life insurance, short term disability and long-term disability at no cost to the employee. The company offers both traditional and Roth 401k plans with a 6% match and an annual discretionary contribution. All employees start with an accrual of 15 days of Paid Time Off (increases with tenure), are eligible for Holiday pay (generally 11 per year) and get their birthday off. Qualified candidates should have excellent communication skills, be detailed oriented, work well with others, have a high school diploma and be able to pass a background, bondability and credit check to the company's satisfaction. Previous cash handling and customer service experience is preferred but not required. Pay varies depending on experience starting from $18.30 per hour. Hours are Monday through Thursday 8:15am-5:15pm, Friday 8:15am-6:15pm and rotating Saturday's 8:45am-12:15pm (about every other). Bluestone Federal Credit Union is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Greet members and provide exceptional member service
- Process transactions including, but not limited to, deposits, withdrawals, loan and card payments, check withdrawals, bond redemption and cash advances
- Prove cash and checks at end of day
- Receive and process requests for, but not limited to, wires, stop payments, verification of deposits, ordering checks and debit cards, issuing gift, travel and everyday spending cards
- Process negotiable instruments for collection purposes on a daily basis
- Open and close sub accounts and memberships
- Respond to inquiries and process all transactions related to IRA's
- Actively solicit products & services with new and existing members in conjunction with the marketing and overall goals of the Credit Union
- Assure proper maintenance, cleanliness and security of work area, equipment, etc.
- Perform other duties as assigned by any
MRS II, MSR
III or Management Team Member Qualifications, Education and Experience Required:
- High School diploma or equivalent
- Previous cash handling or customer service experience helpful
- Must pass bondability, credit and background checks to company's satisfaction
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Excellent communication skills
- Accurate and detail oriented
- Typing, 10 key and computer experience
- Team player, work well with others, positive attitude
- Exceptional customer service skills Working Condition and Physical requirements:
- Normal office environment with minimal exposure to dust, noise, etc.
- Must be able to stand for long periods of time
- Must work in branch locations, not a work from home position Must be able to lift, carry, move up to 40 pounds
