A Membership Sales Representative recruits and sells new memberships for organizations that rely on membership fees as a primary source of income, including industry and trade associations, service organizations, non-profit organizations and private clubs. May work within a specific territory for recruiting memberships.
Weekdays 5:00 AM-9:00 AM (opener) and 4:00 PM-8:00 PM (closer). Weekends 8:00 AM-4:00 PM. All shifts are 4 or 6 hours. The Gym Opener is the first face members see each morning, and the Closer is the last — both set the tone for how members experience the facility. In this role, you'll open or close the gym, greet members as they come and go, and make sure the space is clean, safe, and fully operational at the start and end of each day. You'll work independently during quieter hours, so we're looking for someone self-directed, dependable, and professional. This position is a strong fit for an early riser (or someone who prefers evening hours), takes pride in a well-run environment, and enjoys creating a welcoming atmosphere for an active community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
Opening Procedures Turn on music, TVs, and any other equipment per the opening checklist. Conduct a walkthrough of the gym to ensure all equipment is operational and the space is clean and ready for guests. Gym Reset Re-rack all free weights, dumbbells, and plates left out from overnight use. Return equipment (resistance bands, mats, benches, etc.) to designated storage areas. Wipe down and reset each station so the gym is fully organized before peak morning traffic. Thoroughly clean and sanitize restrooms, fitness equipment, and the gym floor. Restock locker rooms with supplies and paper products. Immediately report any broken or missing equipment or amenities (toilets, showers, machines, etc.) to management. Follow the Lost & Found policy and turn in any member property to management. Member & Guest Services Greet every member and guest warmly as they enter. Check members into the system accurately. Provide friendly, professional customer service and create a welcoming atmosphere. Address member questions and concerns promptly; escalate to management when needed.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR
Punctual and dependable — especially in early-morning hours. Strong interpersonal skills and a genuinely welcoming personality. Ability to work independently without supervision. Detail-oriented with a proactive approach to cleanliness and problem-solving Prior customer service or fitness industry experience is a plus, but not required.
