Job Description

The Ticket Seller provides exceptional customer service to all visitors by creating a welcoming, efficient, and informative experience. This role supports admissions, membership sales, guest engagement, and event operations while ensuring accurate transaction processing and adherence to organizational policies. The ideal candidate is friendly, detail-oriented, and capable of handling a fast-paced, public-facing environment. For over 125 years The Virginia Zoological Park has been committed to saving and protecting the world's wildlife by inspiring a passion for nature and taking conservation action at home and around the world. Come live by the beautiful Chesapeake Bay; kayak launch sites are just outside our perimeter fence. We are situated 30 minutes from the ocean front and 3 hours from the Blue Ridge Mountains.

Department Hiring Hourly Range:

$15.00 - $24.60 Essential functions include but are not limited to: Greet and interact with guests. Answer on-site guest questions and resolve guest issues. Accurately process monetary transactions and adhere to all cash handling policies. Introduce non-members to the Zoo Membership program highlighting benefits and value. Process admission tickets, membership enrollments/renewals/gifts through CRM software. Maintain and update membership database ensuring accuracy. Supports events by staffing check ins, membership sales, and maintaining lines. Supports end of day sales reconciliation, contribute to preparation / closeout of tills utilized by Guest Services team, as needed. Supports the Guest Services Manager with the success of events, programs, and projects the department is involved in. Performs other duties as assigned. Work requires knowledge necessary to understand basic operational, technical, or office processes. Level of knowledge equivalent to four years of high school or equivalency. Six months experience. The preferred candidate will have previous customer services and telephone experience.

Work Hours:

Working an average of 20 hours per week, 8:00am to 4:30 pm. Includes weekends, may include some evenings and holidays.
