Position Summary:
The Membership Support role provides essential assistance to both the Dues Specialist and the Member Services Clerk, ensuring accurate membership and dues records, timely reporting, and high-quality member services. This position bridges data management and frontline member support, handling administrative tasks, data entry, and direct assistance to members. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and committed to providing excellent service to SEIU6 members.
Key Responsibilities:
Membership & Dues Support:
Assist with processing new member enrollments, withdrawals, and updates. Support dues collection and reconciliation by entering and verifying payments. Help prepare standard membership and dues reports under the direction of the Dues Specialist. Maintain accurate digital and paper records for dues and membership files. Member Services & Front desk
Support:
Greet members and visitors in a professional and welcoming manner. Support phone coverage by routing calls and answering general membership inquiries. Assist members with intake, grievance, and benefits-related forms Send welcome letters to new members and assist with member outreach as directed. Provide translation support when possible.
Administrative & Data Support:
Assist with data entry, database updates, and membership record reconciliation. Handle mail, packages, and deliveries as assigned. Maintain directories, contact lists, and filing systems. Help schedule and support conference room reservations and supply needs. Provide documentation and reporting support for audits and grievance processes.
Collaboration & Flexibility:
Work closely with the Dues Specialist and Member Services Clerk to balance priorities. Provide backup coverage for reception and dues functions when needed. Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications:
Bilingual or multilingual skills preferred. Strong attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and record-keeping. Excellent organizational and time-management skills. Strong communication and customer service skills; ability to interact with members with patience and professionalism. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook) and database systems. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Experience in unions, nonprofits, or other member-service organizations preferred. Commitment to the mission and values of SEIU Local 6.

Pay is based on OPEIU8 Contract Full benefits package includes health insurance, dental, vision, pension plan and paid time off.
