"Excellence in Merchandising, Excellence in Care - Quality Plants Cared For by Quality Professionals" The Merchandiser Area Coordinator position has been established to assist the Division Manager to ensure consistency of staffing and execution in a geographically diverse range of stores. This position will be part of the Central Division management team and will support stores throughout: Peoria, Chillicothe, Pekin, Canton, Morton, Washington, Bartonville, and Surrounding areas. The role will work closely with both the merchandising team and the stores within the assigned territory, providing field support and helping ensure stores are prepared and maintained to expectations.
Job Duties:
In the absence of an assigned Live Goods Merchandiser in stores, it will be the expectation of the MAC to physically cover the staffing needs of assigned stores at the direction of the DM MAC will be responsible for assisting with the training and quality of a group of Garden Center Merchandisers in their assigned stores at the direction of the DM This position is primarily a field position with the expectation of 100% of time spent in field activities MAC will be responsible for initial and ongoing training of team members in assigned stores as well as assisting team members on a regular basis in the execution of daily duties and special projects as assigned by the DM This job description is not meant to be comprehensive, and other duties may be assigned as needed. As a Merchandiser Area Coordinator, your workday will include: Display a variety of outdoor plants Maintain product displays Water all plant materials Develop a watering plan with the floral department manager for additional support as needed Ensure proper signage is in place Maintain a safe and clean display area Remove and record expired plant material Interacting with store personnel and customers Develop a positive working relationship with store management and associates Complete report for each store serviced Document every visit using the Go Spot Check app As a Merchandiser Area Coordinator, you will be required to: Have a smart phone Work outdoors in all elements Have dependable transportation Have a valid driver's license Lift, push and carry up to 30 lbs repetitively Assemble and tear down outdoor benching Understand and execute planograms Use workplace mobile apps Our ideal candidates will demonstrate the following: Strong communication skills Highly organized Detail Oriented Responsible, reliable and dependable work habits Self-starter / Self-motivated Assemble and tear down outdoor benching solo Previous merchandiser experience appreciated - will train strong candidates
