Job Description
Summary The Merchandise Lead is responsible for owning inventory accuracy, merchandising execution, and product availability within the store while supporting daily operations and compliance. This role partners closely with the Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager to ensure inventory integrity, menu accuracy, and disciplined execution of inventory-related processes aligned with the Strains of Success. The Merchandise Lead may serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) during assigned shifts when store leadership is not present and plays a critical role in driving operational excellence, compliance, and in-stock performance. Key Responsibilities Inventory & Merchandising Excellence Own day-to-day inventory execution to ensure accuracy, integrity, and compliance across all product categories Receive, process, and manage all internal and wholesale product orders for the store, ensuring timely and accurate intake Maintain accurate inventory records across POS, inventory systems, and METRC Manage and maintain the store's online menu, ensuring accuracy in product availability, descriptions, pricing, and compliance requirements Partner with Supply Chain and Logistics teams to support transfers, allocations, and inventory movement, escalating risks or concerns as needed Review inventory levels and sales trends to support weekly allocation adjustments based on business needs Develop, execute, and reinforce standards and procedures for all inventory-related systems and workflows Drive adherence to inventory-related KPIs, including accuracy, shrink, adjustments, and reconciliation Identify inventory discrepancies daily, investigate root causes, and resolve issues quickly in partnership with store leadership Support merchandising standards and planogram execution to ensure product is presented accurately and consistently Sales & Operational Support Support daily store operations to ensure smooth, efficient, and compliant execution during assigned shifts Serve as Manager on Duty (MOD) when Store Manager and Assistant Store Manager are not present, leading the team and making real-time operational decision Support sales execution by ensuring strong in-stock positions, clean menus, and accurate product information Reinforce operational routines, policies, and standards to support store performance Compliance & Inventory Control Ensure full compliance with all state and local cannabis regulations, Department of Health requirements, and company policies Maintain disciplined recordkeeping, METRC tracking, and required documentation Lead and support inventory audits, cycle counts, and compliance review Train and reinforce inventory compliance best practices with teammates Partner with store leadership to reduce loss and protect inventory integrity Team Leadership & Development Manage, coach, and develop teammates involved in inventory and merchandising execution Provide clear expectations, training, and real-time feedback to drive accountability and accuracy Model Theory values and foster a culture of ownership, precision, and operational discipline Partner with store leadership to build inventory knowledge and capability across the team Customer Experience Support Support the BUD Experience by ensuring product availability, accurate menus, and clean merchandising standards Assist teammates with product knowledge and inventory-related customer questions Help ensure a clean, organized, and safe store environment Other Duties Perform additional responsibilities as assigned in a fast-paced, evolving retail and regulatory environment

- Requirements Minimum of two to three years of retail, inventory, or operations leadership experience, preferably in a regulated environment.
