Job Description

The Lake County Captains are seeking a motivated, energetic, and team-oriented Business Operations & Merchandising Intern to join our organization for the 2026 season. This hands-on internship offers a unique opportunity to gain experience in sports marketing, retail operations, and game day execution in a fast-paced, fan-focused environment. Position Overview The Business Operations & Merchandising Intern will play a key role in supporting both the retail and business operations of the Captains organization. This individual will be actively involved in all offseason activities, as well as additional team and community events throughout the offseason. Key Responsibilities Assist in the daily operation of the team store, including maintaining organization, cleanliness, and visual merchandising standards Operate point-of-sale (POS) systems accurately and efficiently Provide exceptional customer service to fans and guests Support inventory management, restocking, and product displays Assist with game day activations, promotions, and in-game entertainment elements Collaborate closely with the Business Operations Manager on various initiatives Contribute to partnership activations, sponsor fulfillment, and promotional efforts Assist with community outreach and special events Provide general support across departments as needed Qualifications Strong communication and interpersonal skills Positive attitude with a willingness to learn in a team environment Ability to multitask and work in a fast-paced setting Dependable and able to work a flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays Interest in sports, marketing, retail, or event management preferred Previous customer service or retail experience is a plus We are an equal opportunity employer and all qualified applicants will receive consideration for employment without regard to race, color, religion, national origin, sex, sexual orientation, age, disability, gender identity, marital or veteran status, or any other protected class.
