With an 18 Hole golf course, driving range, eight tennis courts, a sports court, four banquet halls, a fitness center and three restaurants, Laredo Country Club is "Our Family's Second Home". In line with the club's mission and vision, the club is setting their sights on the future as we are in the process of developing a club wide master plan including major upgrades to the club house and golf course. The first phase of the three part master plan was put to a vote in March 2023. We are searching for an experienced, task-oriented and well-organized individual to become our Merchandising Assistant.

The position is responsible for the success and visibility of the golf, tennis, fitness and aquatics merchandise concession. The position coordinates and merchandises inventory of products offered for sale. Merchandiser tracks, documents, manages and promotes product sales and implements inventory control. The selected candidate will assist the Accounting department with incoming statements and invoices to ensure all items are followed through in a timely manner. Position Description Assistant in the overall merchandising operation for all Sports including golf, tennis, and fitness & aquatics.

Other responsibilities include:

Deliver a friendly, energetic and positive approach to service. Must be able to lift and carry items 30 lbs. and over. Must have great phone etiquette, a professional image at all times and be knowledgeable in service. Assist in organizing databases and spreadsheets. Must have knowledgeable computer experience and intuition. Sell merchandise in Golf Pro Shop, ensuring that the shop operation is functioning well and that all phases of service and their execution are optimal. Will be cross trained in all aspects of the overall retail operation of the Golf Pro Shop. Assist in creating merchandising displays to maximize sales and product turnover. Provide superior customer service. Observe club's safety rules and regulations. Oversees and coordinates the work of all those involved in guest services while on the club's golf course, particularly Starters and Marshals. Monitors equipment and golf car use. Must be able to work and coordinate in a fast-paced, team-orientated environment. Must be ready to handle multitasking at any given time during a shift. Ensure smooth and reasonable pace of play is monitored by staff on golf course to avoid bottlenecks and delays. Control tee sheet registration to prevent unauthorized people from using golf facilities. Assist golfers during play and in any emergencies on the course. Administer First Aid, if necessary. Control pace of play on golf course by directing players to the first tee at appropriate times. Qualifications Must be able to fully comprehend job assignments, including the ability to read, write and communicate in fluent English and Spanish. The candidate should also possess oral and written communication skills.

Valid Driver License Experience with managing inventory and invoicing Experience in Purchasing, Accounting office or retail setting Proficiency in adapting to new software Ability to operate a computer and other general office equipment. Service and customer focused attitude Proficient in online applications such as email or Microsoft Office.
