Follows trends, anticipates consumer demand, directs buying and manages inventory; displays merchandise that will sell well at retail. Produces or monitors sales reports. May supervise a staff of buyers, in a larger retail store or department, or train and supervise retail sales staff.

Job Description

Partner with Transition team and Merchandisers within the division to coordinate a balanced marketing program, merchandising strategies and plans for respective divisions. Achieve a high level of knowledge on local market trends, customer needs, customer life-styles and competitive activity that impacts on the division marketing program to meet/exceed customers' expectations. Work collaboratively with Corporate teams to achieve fresh department sales and profit budgets. Achieve Division Business Plan in alignment with the Company Business Plan. Demonstrate the company's core values of respect, honesty, integrity, diversity, inclusion and safety.
RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist Fresh merchandisers with execution of company policy and standards in Fresh departments (Meat/Seafood, Produce/Floral, Deli/Bakery)
  • Ensure communication shared with store teams is streamlined for optimal execution at store level
  • Partner with GO to maintain a systematic procedure to obtain knowledge of local competitive retail structures
  • Analyze and provide this information to all stakeholders to ensure competitive and profitable retail price structure
  • Assist in the effective use of historical and forecasted statistical information to ensure Kroger leads the market in fresh departments
  • Work closely with peers to ensure prompt and complete follow-through on sales and merchandising plans
  • Review division sales budgets, work with corporate departments to resolve any financial/budget concerns
  • Collect and filter communications provided by the GO team to division department coordinators and stores
  • Review weekly ad with Customer Communications and Finance departments to provide feedback to the GO team around local and special events
  • Collaborate with Fresh merchandisers to reduce disruption of day to day store operations
  • Support Fresh merchandisers in local and seasonal sales promotions above sales plan delivered by GO
  • Make a strong and continuous effort to broaden personal knowledge and skill in all areas that Kroger operates

  • Bachelors Degree Any experience as store leader, division district coordinator, division or corporate perishable category manager; corporate Merchandising experience or experience in more than one division Merchandising department $79,300
