Job Description

Remix Operations & Merchandising Manager Remix Market Raleigh, NC Job Details Full-time $20 - $24 an hour 22 hours ago Benefits Paid time off Qualifications Vendor relationship building Merchandising E-commerce Business development Retail management Process management Full Job Description Position Overview Remix Market is seeking an Operations & Merchandising Manager to lead the flow, evaluation, presentation, and movement of reusable goods collected through Junkluggers Franchise jobs. This is not a traditional thrift store management role. Remix is looking for someone who can bring a refined eye, operational structure, and entrepreneurial mindset to the way reusable goods are evaluated, merchandised, sold, donated, repurposed, or responsibly discarded. The right candidate will understand the difference between secondhand clutter and items with real resale, design, donation, or reuse value. This person will be responsible for managing inventory flow, maintaining a curated storefront experience, developing pricing and merchandising standards, and helping grow Remix into a more intentional, profitable, and scalable reuse operation. This role requires strong judgment, organization, creativity, and a hands-on willingness to manage the daily realities of inventory while also thinking strategically about the future of the business. Key Responsibilities Evaluate incoming items from Junkluggers jobs and determine the best path for each item: resale, donation, recycling, repurposing, or disposal. Maintain organized inventory systems for incoming, active, sold, donated, and discarded items. Manage the small storefront, ensuring it feels curated, clean, intentional, and aligned with the ReMix USA brand. Price resale items appropriately based on condition, demand, quality, uniqueness, and market value. Identify high-value, vintage, designer, furniture, decor, appliance, and specialty items with resale potential. Coordinate donation pickups/drop-offs and maintain relationships with local donation partners. Help prevent inventory from becoming stagnant by creating systems to move items through quickly and efficiently. Develop creative ideas for growing the business, including specialty sales, online listings, vendor partnerships, pop-up events, themed collections, or local collaborations. Maintain cleanliness, organization, and visual standards in storage areas and storefront displays. Track inventory trends and provide feedback on what sells, what sits, and what should be avoided. Work with Junkluggers teams to improve the handoff process for reusable items from jobs. Support social media, online resale, or marketing efforts by identifying items worth promoting. Ensure unusable or unsellable items are handled responsibly and do not clutter the storefront or storage areas. Help build standard operating procedures for sorting, pricing, merchandising, donating, and disposing of items. Ideal Candidate The ideal candidate has a good eye, strong organizational skills, and the ability to make quick but thoughtful decisions. They should be practical, creative, and comfortable working with a wide variety of items — from furniture and home decor to antiques, household goods, and unique finds. This person should understand the difference between "used stuff" and items with actual resale, design, or reuse value. They should be willing to get hands-on with inventory while also thinking strategically about how to grow the business. Qualifications Experience in consignment, estate sales, resale, recommerce, furniture/home décor, visual merchandising, staging, retail buying, inventory operations, or small business management. Strong understanding of quality, condition, resale value, presentation, and customer appeal. Ability to make fast, confident decisions about what should be sold, donated, repurposed, recycled, or discarded. Experience creating systems, processes, or standards for inventory movement and organization. Comfort identifying new revenue channels such as online sales, specialty collections, pop-up events, vendor partnerships, or local collaborations. Interest in sustainability, reuse, upcycling, circular economy, or landfill diversion. Success in This Role Looks Like Inventory moves through the system efficiently instead of piling up. The storefront feels curated, organized, and intentional — not cluttered or random. Resale-worthy items are identified, priced, and sold effectively. Donation and disposal decisions are made quickly and responsibly. ReMix USA develops stronger systems, better presentation, and new revenue opportunities. The business grows beyond a basic secondhand model into a more refined reuse and resale operation. Compensation Compensation will be based on experience and the final scope of the role. Growth opportunities may be available as ReMix USA expands.
