Nestled in the Texas Hill Country above Lake LBJ, Escondido Golf & Lake Club is one of Texas's most prestigious private clubs — home to a Tom Fazio-designed course ranked Top 10 in the state and a member community defined by genuine warmth, world-class service, and a culture that feels more like family than a workplace. We're looking for an Assistant Merchandise Manager ready to grow. This is a hands-on development role — you'll train directly under our Merchandise Manager, learn the full buying-to-retail cycle, and build the skills to become a Merchandise Manager in your own right. What You'll Do Assist with day-to-day golf shop operations Provide outstanding service to members and guests Learn buying, merchandising & open-to-buy procedures Maintain shop displays and product presentation Receive and check in incoming merchandise Support inventory processes and monthly reporting Work with golf pros on tournament merchandise Handle special orders and member requests Operate and support POS systems Assist with seasonal changeovers and events Support billing and accounting submissions Help train golf shop salespersons What We Offer Competitive hourly pay + benefits including health insurance, 401(k), and PTO Structured mentorship and a clear path to Merchandise Manager A stunning, one-of-a-kind work environment on a Top 10 Texas golf course A team culture built on respect, excellence, and genuine care for one another
Requirements:
What We're Looking For Passion for golf and retail service Warm, professional communication style Strong organizational skills and attention to detail Eagerness to learn and grow into a management role Ability to lift 40 lbs and work on your feet Comfortable working outdoors in all weather Able to operate a golf cart (required) Available for weekends, holidays, and events
