Job Description

Front Counter Parts Sales Job Summary The role of the Front Counter Parts Sales is to be responsible for assisting all customers and mechanics in securing needed parts and supplies, as well as a being a support for the Outside Parts Sales in the field. This position will also be accountable for achieving the monthly sales and gross profit forecasts, seeking and soliciting parts sales opportunities, assisting in warehouse functions and any other task assigned by management. Essential Functions Work with customers and mechanics to fill parts requirements. Prepare invoices for all over the counter sales, and house requisitions for all parts that are issued to the shops. Assist all customers on phone and prepares efficient sales orders and invoices for various parts. Assist in maintaining stock levels, receiving and shipping parts, and in issuing local purchase orders. Work with outside salesmen to fill the customer's parts requirements in order to obtain maximum customer satisfaction. Maintain a neat and clean appearance in the customer parts area and parts warehouse. Enter all lost sales into the inventory system so that proper inventory items and levels can be maintained. Prepare information for the Parts Manager on parts which may be required for inventory. Operate a terminal console and other equipment in fulfilling duties. Assisting in warehouse duties as needed including but not limited to daily cycle counts, checking in freight, etc. Qualifications One year parts counter experience or related mechanical/technical experience preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Prefer experience dealing with the public in sales/service capacity. Computer skills preferred. Physical Requirements While performing the duties of this job, the employee must have the ability to occasionally lift heavy parts in the warehouse or while assisting customers. Environmental Conditions Employee regularly works indoors.. May be exposed to weather extremes when working outside or in the warehouse in conditions that include inclement weather, heat, cold, and humidity. Noise level may be loud at times. Exposure to dust and small quantities of grease and oil from time to time in the shop.
