JOB SUMMARY
The Parts Counterperson supports daily operations by managing parts inventory, coordinating parts orders, and providing customer service for maintenance and repair activities. This position serves as a key point of contact for technicians, vendors, and customers to ensure timely availability of parts and efficient service operations.
Responsibilities include:
Ordering and sourcing parts for maintenance and repair operations Processing parts sales and maintaining inventory levels Assisting customers with parts inquiries and service needs Supporting customer check-in and check-out activities for service work Coordinating with service personnel to ensure parts availability Maintaining accurate inventory records and stock levels Assisting with service-related administrative tasks as needed
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Order, receive, stock, and distribute parts for service and repair operations Process parts sales transactions and maintain accurate documentation Monitor inventory levels and place stock orders as needed Assist customers with parts inquiries, availability, and pricing Coordinate with technicians and supervisors regarding parts requirements Perform customer check-in and check-out functions related to service work Maintain organized inventory storage areas and accurate records Utilize electronic parts ordering systems and service software Support after-hours customer parts call-outs as required Participate in safety meetings and comply with company safety policies Assist with additional duties and special projects as assigned Job Qualifications Must meet all physical requirements and be able to follow directions. High school diploma or equivalent required. Previous experience in parts sales, inventory management, or service operations preferred. Basic knowledge of parts and service work required. Experience using electronic parts ordering systems and stock ordering programs preferred. Strong attention to detail and organizational skills. Basic analytical and quantitative skills with the ability to solve problems. Ability to read, write, and communicate in English fluently and professionally. Proficiency with basic computer systems and inventory software. Valid driver's license preferred. Physical Requirements Must be on feet 66%-100% of the time. Frequent need to bend, stoop, reach, and lift materials and parts. Ability to lift and carry parts and materials up to 50 lbs. Ability to work in warehouse, shop, and office environments. Ability to work indoors and outdoors as needed. Vision Requirements Constantly observe inventory, parts numbers, and documentation for accuracy. Ability to read computer screens, labels, invoices, and parts catalogs.
Hearing Requirements Essential :
Must be able to hear clearly and accurately to receive verbal instructions and communicate with customers, vendors, and team members. Speaking Requirements Constant need to verbally communicate with customers, staff, vendors, and service personnel. Lifting/Carrying 25-75 lbs. occasionally (1%-50% of the time) Assistance available for lifting over 50 lbs. Work Hours 40 hours per week, with weekend or overtime work as needed Education and Experience High school diploma required Experience in parts sales, inventory control, service operations, or a related field preferred. Experience with electronic parts ordering systems and inventory management software preferred.
