Job Description

The Parts Technical Specialist serves as Servco Parts Center's technical resource for automotive parts, accessories, parts applicability, and emerging vehicle technologies. This role is responsible for ensuring dealership personnel and internal customers receive timely, accurate, and professional support that enhances customer satisfaction, strengthens relationships, and contributes to revenue growth. Through technical expertise, problem-solving, education, and cross-functional collaboration, this position helps deliver exceptional service experiences while supporting operational excellence and business performance.
KEY OUTCOMES
Technical Support & Customer Assistance Serve as a technical resource for dealership personnel and internal teams by providing guidance on parts applicability, fitment, accessory compatibility, product usage, and other parts-related inquiries. Support accurate parts identification, selection, and ordering through interpretation of technical information, product specifications, repair procedures, and OEM resources. Assist with parts-related technical troubleshooting, warranty inquiries, and customer support issues requiring research, investigation, and resolution. Develop and maintain current knowledge of automotive parts systems, accessories, electronic parts catalogs, and emerging vehicle technologies through ongoing OEM training and industry education. Knowledge Resources & Training Support Develop and maintain technical reference materials, job aids, educational resources, and support tools for dealership personnel, and internal teams. Translate OEM product, technical, and repair-related information into practical resources that support parts operations and customer support activities. Promote awareness of Genuine Parts and Accessories programs through educational content and communication initiatives. Operational Support & Coordination Collaborate with dealership personnel, OEM representatives, procurement teams, and internal departments to research, resolve, and communicate solutions for parts-related inquiries and customer support issues. Assist with special projects and initiatives related to parts operations, product support, customer service, and continuous improvement. Carry out additional duties and responsibilities as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS
High school diploma or equivalent required. Associate degree or higher in Automotive Technology, Business, Communications, or related field preferred. Minimum two years of experience in the automotive parts industry, including dealership, general repair, or autobody parts, with experience in service, technical support, training, or related fields. Experience developing technical documentation, training materials, or instructional content preferred. Working knowledge of automotive systems, vehicle technologies, accessories, and parts operations. Ability to interpret technical, product, and OEM information and translate complex concepts into practical guidance and support resources. Valid Driver's License and clean driving record ASE Certification preferred. OEM technical, product, or training certifications a plus. Strong verbal, written, presentation, and communication skills. Proficient with Microsoft Office applications. Familiarity with Electronic Parts Catalog (EPC), parts identification processes, and dealership operations preferred. Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills. Competencies Customer-focused with a proactive approach. Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy.
