Industrial Counter Sales and Assembly Summary/Objective:

The Industrial Counter Sales and Assembly position is responsible to work with customers in person and on the phone to identify products that are immediately needed to either have assembled, repaired or developed. Incumbents will communicate with customers in person and/or by phone as well as be responsible to produce, assemble and repair large varieties of parts and fittings in a fast-paced, team-oriented and changing dynamic customer-service environment.

Essential Functions:

• Responsible to greet and communicate effectively with customers.
• Identify hoses, parts, fittings, assemblies that customers need or bring to have repaired or replaced.
• Sell company components and services to customers to effectively meet their needs.
• Incumbents, with use of computer, will accurately compile and create invoices and complete payments for parts and services.
• Produce, repair, replace and assemble a large variety of hoses, fittings or parts.
• Works independently or as a team member to meet the demands of customers arriving at the counter.
• Provides other duties including warehouse maintenance, machine repair and moving large quantities of stock as needed.

Non-Essential Functions:

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications :

• Previous manufacturing, auto or parts counter sales experience preferred
• Industrial maintenance experience
• Fluid Power experience is preferred
• Mechanical assembly and/or parts knowledge: 1-3 years required :
• High school or GED required
• Some higher education preferred
• : • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.

• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organizational and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
• Ability to follow through on complex and detailed repairs and assemblies.
• Ability to read a caliper and use of tape measure.
• Experience with hydraulic systems and components.
• Ability to diagnose, repair, and maintain hydraulic systems.
• Proficiency in interpreting blueprints and schematics.
• Working knowledge of computer terminals and retrieving parts/fittings online.

Customer service counter and production environment in an industrial manufacturing setting.

Position Type/Expected Hours:

8:00a.m.

• 5:00p.m. Incumbents are required to work on a flexible work schedule to meet the demands of customers. Occasional Saturday coverage and coverage from 7 a.m. opening and 6 p.m. closing periodically.

Non-exempt Physical Demands:

Prolonged periods of standing and working on various machinery and equipment. Working in a manufacturing environment while producing parts and assembling hoses Must be able to lift and carry up to 80 pounds at times.
