This position will focus on identifying and purchasing quality pre-owned vehicles directly from customers, including customers visiting our service department, individuals submitting online vehicle purchase inquiries, and select vehicles available through online auctions. The ideal candidate is comfortable working with customers, understands vehicle values and market conditions, and can make sound purchasing decisions while providing an excellent customer experience. Key Responsibilities Appraise vehicles for customers in the DeHaven Chevrolet service drive and identify opportunities to purchase vehicles directly from service customers. Contact and follow up with customers who submit inbound vehicle purchase or appraisal inquiries . Provide accurate, competitive vehicle valuations based on condition, market data, history, and current inventory needs. Present purchase offers and professionally communicate with customers throughout the acquisition process. Build relationships with service customers and create a simple, low-pressure vehicle-selling experience. Purchase vehicles that meet the dealership's inventory needs and profitability goals. Monitor market conditions, wholesale values, retail pricing, and inventory trends. Assist with sourcing and purchasing vehicles through online auctions when needed. Coordinate with sales, used-car management, service, and accounting teams to ensure acquired vehicles are processed efficiently. Maintain accurate records of appraisals, customer contacts, offers, purchases, and follow-up activity. Consistently follow up with potential sellers and work toward established acquisition goals. Qualifications Automotive sales, appraisal, purchasing, or dealership experience preferred. Strong understanding of used-vehicle values and market conditions is a plus. Excellent communication and customer-service skills. Comfortable communicating with customers by phone, text, email, and in person. Strong organizational and follow-up skills. Ability to work independently and make informed purchasing decisions. Comfortable using dealership software, online appraisal tools, and auction platforms.
