Parts Clerk Kansas City, KS | Full-Time | On-Site$20+ per hour, based on experience
Who We're Looking:
We're a small family-owned, independent shop, and you'd be supporting our on-Highway truck service department working on Freightliner, Ford, and other makes. This is a back counter role: your customers are our service writer and technicians, and your job is to keep them supplied so repair jobs never sit waiting on parts.
What You'll Do:
Assist our service writer with day-to-day parts support for Freightliner, Ford, and other on-Highway Source parts from vendors and suppliers, comparing price and availability to get the right part at the right price Handle special-order and backordered parts; track them, follow up, and let the shop know when they land Receive shipments, verify orders and quantities against packing slips, and stock incoming parts Put parts on service tickets accurately so repair orders stay clean and billable Keep inventory accurate Process cores, warranty parts, returns, and damaged parts, and follow up so credits actually come back Work directly with ownership to improve how we procure parts and manage inventory
What You Bring:
2+ years of parts counter experience at NAPA, O'Reilly, AutoZone, or a similar auto parts store Strong customer service skills; here your customers are internal: our technicians and service writer, plus the vendors you'll work every day Comfortable on a computer looking up parts in catalogs and inventory systems Organized and accurate Able to lift up to 50 lbs and be on your feet most of the day Reliable. We're a small team and we count on each other.
