Job Description
The Parts Manager is responsible for assisting all mechanics and estimators in purchasing needed parts and supplies. Job duties for a parts manager include:
- Locating and purchasing parts
- Tracking all incoming parts
- Checking that all parts delivered are free of any damage
- Mirror-matching parts to identify the correct part was received
- Costing invoices correctly in the system
- Processing returns by packing and sending back parts to the proper vendor, and obtaining credits / refunds for the return
- Seeking out and fostering vendor relationships to negotiate that highest possible discounts
- Referring to the estimating software and vendors to identify exactly the right part(s) for the make, model and year of vehicles being serviced.
Parts Manager:
- Must have computer proficiency
- Team oriented, flexible and focused on maintaining a high level of customer service
- Ability to lift up to 80 lbs
- Valid driver's license
- Automotive knowledge is recommended
