This role is critical to keeping technicians productive, fleets moving, and customers confident in our service. Position Overview The Parts Specialist supports both internal and external customers by accurately identifying, sourcing, selling, and tracking parts for buses and heavy-duty equipment. Success in this role requires attention to detail, strong product knowledge, and the ability to perform at a high level in a fast-paced, service-driven operation. Key Responsibilities Assist technicians, drivers, fleet managers, and walk-in customers in identifying and purchasing the correct parts Maintain a clean, organized, and efficient parts counter with prompt, professional service Process parts sales, work orders, returns, and exchanges accurately through the inventory management system Research, source, and follow up on non-stock or hard-to-find parts to meet customer and shop needs Monitor inventory levels and work closely with the Parts Manager to maintain proper stocking and availability Receive, inspect, and stock incoming shipments while verifying accuracy and condition Ensure correct pricing, invoicing, and documentation for all parts transactions Recommend alternate or upgraded parts solutions when appropriate Communicate clearly with vendors and suppliers to ensure timely and accurate deliveries Maintain a safe, clean, and professional work environment in the parts department Qualifications & Experience High school diploma or equivalent; vocational or technical training is a plus Previous experience in a parts counter, dealership, warehouse, or heavy-duty/automotive environment Knowledge of bus, truck, diesel, or automotive parts and systems Ability to read and interpret parts diagrams, catalogs, and technical information Comfortable using inventory management and computer systems Strong organizational skills with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physically active tasks What Sets You Apart Strong work ethic and personal accountability Sense of urgency and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment Customer-focused mindset with a team-first attitude Problem-solver who takes initiative and follows through Desire to learn, grow, and advance within the dealership Work Environment Heavy-duty dealership, warehouse, or maintenance facility setting Frequent interaction with technicians, fleet personnel, vendors, and customers Active role involving standing, lifting, bending, and stocking parts Compensation & Benefits Competitive pay based on experience Health, dental, and vision insurance Paid time off and holidays Retirement plan options Career development opportunities within a growing dealership
