Job Description

Pace Inc, an outdoor power equipment distributor based in Plymouth, Michigan, is looking for an OEM Account Manager or Account Manager to cover
OR, WA, ID, MT, WY, CA, UT, NV, AZ.
This position is responsible for achieving maximum sales profitability, growth, and account penetration within an assigned territory by effectively representing and selling Honda (gas) and Hatz (diesel) engines to Distributor OEM customers. •This position requires overnight travel (3-4 overnights a week avg) Essential Functions and Responsibilities • Reasonable accommodation may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Establishes, develops, and maintains business relationships with current Distributor OEM customers in the assigned territory to generate new business. Creates annual business plans based on PACE and the manufactures objectives and targets new Distributor OEM customers. Creates business strategies and tasks while ensuring timelines are followed to achieve the annual business objective/sales goal. Promotes, sells, and secures orders by communicating with existing and prospective customers on a regular basis through emails, phone calls, in person-visits, and presentations, while building rapport and learning their needs. Monitors competition, develops, and maintains competitive comparisons by gathering current information on pricing, products, and merchandising techniques, etc. Prioritize time and activities by studying existing and potential sales volume of customer. Exhibits competency with long range planning utilizing CRM. All calls to perspective Distributor OEMS, and existing Distributor OEM customers' needs to be planned with purpose of visit, results of visit, and a scheduled follow-up. Supports existing/potential Distributor OEM customers and assists them in selecting engines and equipment best suited to their needs. Strong understanding of small engines systems (gas and diesel), performance characteristics, and integration requirements, with the ability to support Distributor OEMs in selecting the right solution for their applications. Participates in trade shows and conventions, which may include assisting with the set up and tear down of all equipment and materials. Expedites the resolution of customer complaints by investigating problems, developing solutions, and making recommendations to management. Adheres to state traffic laws and company vehicle policy involving the safe operation of truck, trailer, and demonstration equipment at all times. Functions and Responsibilities Specific to Distributor OEM Functions Works with each Distributor OEM to develop new products and pricing strategies following PACE guidelines. Understands and coordinates engine forecasting model with Distributor
OEM, PACE
Inc., and engine manufacturer. Follows up with Distributor OEM customers regarding retesting and testing requirements and ensure pre-test forms are completed prior to testing. Is trained and proficient in Distributor OEM testing requirements, procedures, and documentation to ensure the application is compliant with the engine manufacturer's guidelines. Performsand submits documentation to the engine manufacturer for approval and ensures applications tests are up to date.
Job Requirements and Qualifications Competencies and Skills:
Provide customer service, ability to meet sales goals and close a sale, ability to prospect, strong presentation skills, maintain client relationships, possess a motivation for sales, strong organizational and able to properly prioritize projects to enhance productivity, resourceful, prioritizes work effectively, and has working knowledge in the use of Microsoft Suite programs.
Required Education and Experience:
High school diploma or GED equivalent, a minimum of three years outside sales experience or equivalent coursework in a related educational field to include business, marketing, etc.
Preferred Education and experience:
Previous job experience with relatable product knowledge. Mechanical knowledge/experience with small engines (gas and diesel) and knowledge of 3D drawings.
Other Requirements Travel:
This position requires overnights (average 3-4 nights a week) and travel throughout their territory and outside states for meetings/conventions when necessary. Travel may include a combination of driving (company truck) and flying & renting vehicles. The employee must regularly lift and/or move objects up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move objects that weigh more than 70 pounds. Available to work weekend/evening schedules to assist with dealer open houses and dealer shows which the dealers participate in. Required to possess and maintain a valid state driver's license. •This is a full-time position providing a benefit package along with vehicle and travel expenses. There are paid time off (PTO) days offered and six paid holidays. There is a competitive salary of $100,000 based on experience plus performance bonus for achieving goals.
