Job Title:
Parts Counterperson Job Description The Parts Counterperson supports the parts department by assisting customers and technicians in identifying, locating, and obtaining the correct automotive parts. This role combines customer service, parts knowledge, and basic computer skills to ensure efficient operations and a positive experience for both internal and external customers. The position offers stability and clear opportunities for growth into other areas of the dealership over time. Responsibilities Assist customers in identifying and selecting the appropriate parts for their vehicles, providing accurate information and guidance. Provide technicians with the correct parts required for customer vehicles to support efficient and accurate repairs. Collaborate with the parts manager to locate and source any parts that are not currently in stock. Communicate with customers regarding the status of special-order or backordered parts and notify them promptly when parts arrive. Serve as a backup to the stocking clerk as needed, helping to receive, organize, and maintain inventory in the stockroom. Maintain a professional, friendly, and helpful demeanor when interacting with customers, technicians, and other staff members. Use computer systems, including Microsoft Office and dealership software where applicable, to look up parts, process orders, and maintain accurate records. Support overall parts department operations by helping keep the counter and stock areas organized, clean, and efficient. Essential Skills 1-2 years of dealership or retail automotive parts experience. Strong customer service skills with the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in person and over the phone. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Ability to work collaboratively with technicians, the parts manager, and other team members. Attention to detail to ensure accurate parts selection, ordering, and documentation. Basic understanding of automotive parts and their applications, or the ability to learn quickly. Additional Skills & Qualifications 1-2 years of Ford and/or dealership experience is a plus. Familiarity with DealerBuilt or similar dealership management systems is a plus. Willingness to learn and be trained for the role, including systems, processes, and product knowledge. Previous experience working in a stockroom, warehouse, or parts environment is beneficial. Interest in long-term growth and development within the dealership environment. Work Environment The Parts Counterperson works in the parts department alongside the parts manager and a small team of colleagues who cover the parts counter and stockroom. This is a first-shift position with hours of Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., with a requirement to work every fourth Saturday of the month from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. The environment is a professional dealership setting that combines customer-facing counter work with time spent in the stockroom and at a computer workstation. Dress code is business casual. The company offers a stable position with room for growth into other areas of the dealership over time. Job Type & Location This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Warrington, PA. Pay and Benefits The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $32.00/hr. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
