From the beginning of the vehicle purchase process, through the warranty repairs and on-going vehicle maintenance, our team of dedicated and highly skilled professionals work diligently to keep our customers trucks on the road running smoothly. The role of the Outside Parts Salesperson is to be responsible for assisting all customers in securing needed parts and supplies. Will also be accountable for achieving the monthly sales and gross profit forecasts, and for seeking and soliciting parts sales.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/RESPONSIBILITIES
Regularly visits assigned customers and proactively prospects for new customers. Communicates parts orders and delivery instructions to counter people. Keeps abreast of new products, competition and pricing trends. Coordinates relationships with New and Used Truck prospects and Service salespeople. Promotes the sales of parts and accessories and is an advisor to wholesale or retail customers. In conjunction with Credit Manager, establishes method of payment on wholesale parts and may obtain credit approvals. Follows up on and confirms customer requirements and orders to ensure satisfaction. Completes necessary paperwork for processing warranty claims. Reviews special orders and pricing with Parts Sales Manager for approvals. Deliver orders and pick-up returns from customers. Effectively and efficiently manages required reports and paperwork (budgets, travel, call reports, expense reports, time sheets, etc). Maintains customer records and logs. Other duties to meet business needs.
ESSENTIAL
EDUCATION and
EXPERIENCE QUALIFICATIONS
High-school diploma or GED Heavy truck and commercial motor vehicle industry experience
KEY ATTRIBUTES / SKILLS / CHARACTERISTICS
Exceptional communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills Persistent Basic computer skills Proven time management skills Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions and reachagreed upon outcomes. Ability to use creativity to solve problems and meet customer needs within company guidelines.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
1+ years of inside or outside sales experience with a proven ability to reach, maintain and exceed sales goals/quotas General business courses or sales training
ADDITIONAL
Must have ability to travel throughout assigned territory. Ability to lift up to 100 lbs. Safe driving record required
