THE

COMMERCIAL TRUCK PARTS PURCHASER IS RESPONSIBLE FOR SOURCING, PURCHASING, NEGOTIATING, AND MAINTAINING INVENTORY LEVELS OF COMMERCIAL TRUCK, TRAILER, TIRE, AND FLEET MAINTENANCE PARTS. THIS POSITION PLAYS A CRITICAL ROLE IN SUPPORTING SHOP OPERATIONS, ROAD SERVICE, AND CUSTOMER UPTIME BY ENSURING THE RIGHT PARTS ARE AVAILABLE AT THE BEST POSSIBLE COST. THE IDEAL CANDIDATE MUST HAVE STRONG KNOWLEDGE OF HEAVY-DUTY TRUCK PARTS, SUPPLIER RELATIONSHIPS, AND ADVANCED PARTS CROSS-REFERENCE CAPABILITIES. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

PURCHASE COMMERCIAL TRUCK, TRAILER, SUSPENSION, BRAKE, WHEEL-END, DRIVELINE, ELECTRICAL, ENGINE AND TIRE-RELATED PARTS.
MAINTAIN INVENTORY LEVELS TO SUPPORT DAILY SHOP AND ROAD SERVICE OPERATIONS.
OBTAIN COMPETITIVE QUOTATIONS FROM MULTIPLE SUPPLIERS.
NEGOTIATE PRICING, FREIGHT COSTS, RETURN POLICIES, AND PAYMENT TERMS.
TRACK PURCHASE ORDERS.
COORDINATE WITH TECHNICIANS, SERVICE ADVISORS, AND MANAGEMENT TO MEET PARTS
REQUIREMENTS.
IDENTIFY COST-SAVING OPPORTUNITIES THROUGH SUPPLIER NEGOTIATIONS AND
ALTERNATIVE SOURCING.
REVIEW AND ANALYZE PARTS USAGE REPORTS TO FORECAST FUTURE DEMAND.
PARTICIPATE IN PHYSICAL INVENTORY COUNTS AND CYCLE COUNTS.
DEVELOP AND MAINTAIN STRONG RELATIONSHIPS WITH KEY VENDORS AND MANUFACTURERS.
ENSURE ALL PURCHASED ITEMS MEET COMPANY QUALITY STANDARDS.
IDENTIFY AND CROSS-REFERENCE OEM, OES, AND AFTERMARKET PART NUMBERS.
RESEARCH INTERCHANGEABLE PARTS TO REDUCE COSTS AND IMPROVE AVAILABILITY.
VERIFY FIT, FUNCTION, AND SPECIFICATIONS OF ALTERNATIVE PART OPTIONS.
UTILIZE MANUFACTURER CATALOGS, ELECTRONIC DATABASES, AND INDUSTRY CROSS-REFERENCE TOOLS.
SOURCE SUBSTITUTE PARTS WHEN OEM COMPONENTS ARE UNAVAILABLE OR HAVE EXTENDED LEAD TIMES.
RECOMMEND HIGH-QUALITY ALTERNATIVES THAT MAINTAIN VEHICLE PERFORMANCE AND WARRANTY COMPLIANCE.
MAINTAIN CURRENT KNOWLEDGE OF INDUSTRY PRODUCT CHANGES, SUPERSESSIONS, AND PART NUMBER UPDATES.
ASSIST TECHNICIANS WITH PART IDENTIFICATION AND PRODUCT APPLICATION QUESTIONS. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE
MINIMUM 3 YEARS OF COMMERCIAL TRUCK PARTS PURCHASING OR PARTS MANAGEMENT EXPERIENCE.
