In this vital role, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating fleet maintenance activities, ensuring all vehicles and equipment are serviced efficiently and in compliance with safety standards. Job Summary Perform clerical and administrative support for the Transportation Department and Maintenance Shop. Responsibilities include customer service, inventory support, work order processing, and preparation of correspondence and reports. Coordinate responses to staff and customer inquiries while supporting efficient daily operations. Minimum Education, Experience and Certification High school diploma or equivalent required Minimum of three (3) years of clerical or administrative experience preferred Inventory or warehouse experience preferred Ability to obtain a valid Texas Class B CDL with Passenger (P) and School Bus (S) endorsements within 90 days of employment Ability to pass a DOT physical examination Ability to pass required background screening Proficiency in computer applications and office systems Strong organizational skills with attention to detail Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities Provide clerical support for the Transportation Maintenance and Operations departments. Work closely with the Maintenance Supervisor to support departmental goals and objectives. Assist in identifying cost-saving opportunities and improving operational efficiency. Support inventory management, including tracking stock levels, maintaining accurate records, and assisting with inventory balancing. Maintain product identification, barcoding, and location tracking systems. Monitor inventory levels; place, track, and verify supply orders to ensure accuracy and availability. Input and maintain daily work orders as completed by mechanics. Maintain cleanliness and organization of the warehouse and supply areas. Maintain and update databases and records with a high level of accuracy. Prepare correspondence, reports, and other documentation for management. Provide excellent customer service and respond to inquiries from staff and the public. Perform parts running duties, including picking up parts from vendors and delivering them to the maintenance shop. Track and maintain accurate odometer readings for all buses.

Mental Demands/Physical Demands/Environmental Factors Work is performed between office and shop environments. Frequent sitting, standing, walking, bending, and reaching. Occasional lifting of up to 30 pounds. Requires prolonged computer use and repetitive hand motions. Must be able to work with frequent interruptions and maintain emotional control under stress. May require flexible hours, including early mornings and evenings. Exposure to shop conditions, weather elements, and occasional interaction with difficult individuals.
