Job Description
Local, well-established automotive repair facility is seeking a Clerk for our Parts Department. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 4 years experience in the automotive industry and must be able to:
- Source parts using the telephone or internet (both stock and items we don't stock)
- Keep track of all incoming and outstanding parts
- Must have strong inventory management skills
- Minimize cost and maximize creativity in all areas of responsibility (with an emphasis on value)
- Adjust and adapt practices to changing business needs
- Be able and willing to engage with interdepartmental teams, junk yards, multiple part companies
- Think outside of the box to resolve parts issues as necessary
- Experience referring to parts manuals (electronic or printed) to identify the proper application for the vehicle being serviced
- Moderate to strong computer skills
- Proficient in Windows, Excel, Outlook, ordering parts online, and any shop management software.
- Look up labor times in Shop Management software
- Assist with estimate building
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with local parts companies as the face of our company
- Ability to speak "repair lingo" and gather info from the mechanic (when necessary) to help find the right part the first time We offer a full benefits package.
