Job Description
Position Summary The Front End STIHL Technician is responsible for providing excellent customer service at the front counter while supporting the sales, intake, assembly, maintenance, and repair process for STIHL outdoor power equipment. This position serves as a key point of contact for customers, helping diagnose basic equipment concerns, write up repair orders, communicate service updates, support product sales, and ensure customers receive safe, reliable equipment and knowledgeable assistance. Job Responsibilities
- Greet customers promptly and professionally at the front counter and assist customers with product selection, basic operation questions, safety information, and recommended accessories.
- Receive equipment for service, gather customer information, document concerns, and create accurate repair or service orders.
- Perform basic troubleshooting and communicate repair needs, estimated timelines, and service updates to customers.
- Assemble, prepare, test, and demonstrate STIHL equipment for customer pickup or sale.
- Support maintenance and repair work on STIHL equipment as needed.
- Identify parts and accessories using product manuals, parts diagrams, and internal systems.
- Order STIHL parts, accessories, supplies, and equipment as needed to support customer repairs, sales demand, and inventory requirements.
- Receive incoming parts and equipment orders, verify items against purchase orders, and ensure products are properly labeled, stored, or routed for customer service and sales needs.
- Merchandise STIHL products, accessories, and displays to keep the sales area organized, appealing, accurate, and easy for customers to shop.
- Work with managers, sales associates, and service staff to ensure repairs and customer requests are completed efficiently.
- Assist on the sales floor or in other store areas as needed when STIHL service duties are complete. Qualifications
- Mechanical aptitude and interest in small engines, outdoor power equipment, or repair work.
- STIHL certification or willingness to complete STIHL training is required.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with customers and team members.
- Strong attention to detail when documenting service concerns, parts, repairs, and customer information.
- Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, ERP, and ordering systems.
- Dependable attendance, a positive attitude, and willingness to work as part of a team.
