Equipment Operator / Auction Operations Specialist Join Our Growing Team Do you enjoy working with equipment, tools, vehicles, and unique items? Are you someone who likes staying busy, solving problems, and learning new skills? Mayo Auction & Realty is looking for a motivated Equipment Operator / Auction Operations Specialist to join our team. This is a hands-on position for someone who wants more than just a job — someone who wants to become a key part of a growing auction operation. Your primary focus will be operating equipment, organizing inventory, and helping prepare items for auction. As you learn our process, you will also gain experience in auction cataloging, photography, inventory management, and the behind-the-scenes operations that make our auctions successful. Every day is different. One day you may be moving equipment and unloading trailers, the next you may be photographing a rare collectible or helping prepare a large estate auction. If you like variety and working with your hands, this could be the right fit. Responsibilities Equipment Operations & Inventory Management (Primary Focus) Safely operate forklifts, telehandlers, pallet jacks, and other equipment. Load and unload trailers, containers, and incoming inventory. Move, organize, and stage equipment, vehicles, tools, and auction items. Assist with estate cleanouts, onsite projects, and large-scale inventory moves. Maintain organized warehouse and storage areas. Help identify equipment needs, workflow improvements, and project solutions. Auction Operations & Cataloging (Training Provided) Learn Mayo Auction & Realty's auction process from start to finish. Photograph and prepare items for online auctions. Assist with measuring, organizing, and describing auction lots. Learn how to identify brands, models, and important item details. Support auction preparation from pickup through sale day. What We're Looking For We are looking for someone who: Enjoys working with equipment, tools, vehicles, and unique items. Takes pride in doing things correctly and keeping things organized. Is dependable, motivated, and ready to learn. Can work independently while being part of a team. Has a positive attitude and is willing to jump in wherever needed. Previous experience with forklifts, construction equipment, farming equipment, mechanics, warehouse operations, or similar hands-on work is a plus — but the right attitude and willingness to learn matter most. Requirements Ability to safely lift and move heavy items. Comfortable working outdoors in different weather conditions. Valid driver's license and reliable transportation. Ability to learn and operate equipment safely.
Compensation & Schedule Starting Pay:
$20/hour with opportunities for growth based on performance and skill development. Full-time position Monday-Friday schedule with occasional extended hours during major projects, pickups, or auction events.
