Job Description

Job Overview We are seeking a professional and detail-oriented Leasing Agent to join our property management team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing leasing activities, providing exceptional customer service, and ensuring compliance with housing regulations. This role offers an excellent opportunity for individuals with experience in property management, or related fields to contribute to a dynamic and growing organization. The Leasing Agent will play a vital role in maintaining positive relationships with prospective and current tenants while supporting the overall operational efficiency of our property portfolio. Duties Manage the leasing process from initial inquiry through lease signing, including conducting property tours and explaining lease terms. Maintain accurate and up-to-date data entry within property management systems such as Yardi, OneSite, or similar platforms. Ensure compliance with Fair Housing regulations, Section 8 guidelines, LIHTC requirements, and other legal standards. Prepare and review lease agreements, contracts, and legal documents related to property leasing and landlord-tenant law. Conduct tenant screenings, including background checks and credit reports, to assess eligibility. Handle customer inquiries via phone, email, and in person with professionalism and excellent phone etiquette. Assist with rent collection, upselling additional services or amenities, and resolving conflicts effectively through conflict management skills. Coordinate property maintenance requests and communicate with facilities management teams as needed. Support administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and maintaining tenant records in accordance with company policies. Stay informed about local housing laws, Section 8 programs, and Fair Housing regulations to ensure compliance across all leasing activities. Develop strong customer relationships to promote tenant retention and positive community engagement. Requirements Proven experience in property management, real estate administrative roles, or leasing positions; experience with LIHTC, Section 8 programs preferred. Proficiency in property management software such as Yardi, OneSite, or similar platforms; familiarity with CMMS systems is a plus. Knowledge of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, contracts negotiation, and legal administrative procedures. Strong customer service skills with excellent communication abilities including phone etiquette and conflict resolution. Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently within a fast-paced environment; high attention to detail required for data entry and filing tasks. Experience in sales or upselling additional services is advantageous. Office experience with administrative responsibilities such as filing, data management, and contract processing. Knowledge of facilities management or property maintenance processes is beneficial but not mandatory. Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to excellent customer relationship management practices.
