This position combines showroom, in-home, and business development sales activities, creating a unique opportunity for a sales professional who enjoys working directly with clients while also building a strong referral network. Our ideal candidate understands that the most successful flooring professionals don't simply sell products—they build relationships that generate repeat business and referrals for years to come. What You'll Do Sales & Client Development Meet with homeowners, designers, builders, and commercial clients to identify flooring needs Conduct in-home consultations and project assessments Present carpet and flooring solutions tailored to project goals and budgets Prepare estimates and proposals Follow up on leads and close sales opportunities Maintain ongoing communication throughout the project lifecycle Business Development Develop strategic relationships with real estate agents, interior designers, and custom home builders Attend networking events, industry functions, and community events Generate referrals and repeat business Build a personal book of business that becomes a long-term source of recurring revenue Become a trusted flooring resource within the local design and construction community Project Coordination Work closely with estimating, operations, and installation teams Ensure accurate product selections and project specifications Help facilitate smooth project execution from sale through completion Maintain exceptional customer satisfaction and referral generation Who We're Looking For Sales experience in flooring, home improvement, construction, design, real estate, or related industries Strong interpersonal and communication skills Self-motivated and capable of working independently Professional appearance and presentation Reliable transportation Ability to manage multiple projects and relationships simultaneously Preferred Flooring industry experience Carpet sales experience Existing relationships with real estate agents, designers, or builders Knowledge of flooring products and installation methods Experience with estimating software and CRM systems Bilingual (English/Spanish) What Success Looks Like The successful candidate will become known as: The flooring expert local Realtors call before listing a home The trusted partner designers recommend to their clients The go-to flooring resource for custom builders and remodelers A relationship-builder whose business grows primarily through referrals and repeat customers What We Offer Uncapped earning potential Established company reputation and operational support High-quality installation team backing every project Marketing and lead-generation support Flexible schedule Career growth opportunities Access to premium flooring and surface products Opportunity to build a valuable long-term book of business Why This Position Is Different Most flooring sales jobs focus on transactions.
