Job Description

Cobb Cole, a well-established, multi-attorney firm in Daytona Beach is seeking a Legal Assistant for our estate department. The successful candidate will be responsible for assisting the attorney with all aspects of law. This is a full-time position, competitive salary and benefits package offered. Responsibilities:
Manage, organize, and maintain documents in paper or electronic filing systems Communicate with clients and witnesses to schedule meetings Monitor attorney calendars; meeting deadlines; documenting actions; inputting information into file database and case management software; confirming case status with Attorney Ensure attorney is prepared before, during and after client meetings. This includes but is not limited to looking up information, printing out forms, making copies of documents for prospective and/or clients during meetings, mailing documents, scanning, editing, filing, and logging expenses. Handle and distribute incoming and outgoing mail, FedEx and UPS packages. Assist in organizing and preparing closed files for storage. Running conflict checks, dockets sheets and opening client files. Manage multiple Outlook calendars. Prepare documents for client meetings.
Qualifications:
Extremely detail-oriented and able to effectively prioritize a heavy caseload Outstanding interpersonal and telephone skills Must have exceptional written and verbal communication skills Must thrive in a team-driven environment Estate Planning experience is a plus, but not required Positive, upbeat personality and an ability to remain calm under pressure Previous experience in a fast-paced professional office preferred Should have working knowledge of law office procedures and local court rules Must be able to think analytically, take direction well, and work independently Interest in the legal field Legal internship experience is a plus Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office, including Word, Excel, and Outlook Experience with databases and data entry Must be able to lift 25 pounds High school diploma or general education degree (GED) required Compensation will be commensurate with the candidate's experience.
