This role focuses on reviewing applicant and resident information, applying occupancy and rent guidelines, and ensuring clear communication throughout the leasing and recertification process. The ideal candidate brings strong administrative judgment, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive records effectively.
Responsibilities:
- Review household income and supporting documentation to determine rental amounts in accordance with applicable housing guidelines.
- Evaluate applicant files to confirm program eligibility and identify any missing or incomplete information.
- Prepare and distribute resident notices related to rent changes, recertifications, and other occupancy matters.
- Meet with applicants and current residents to gather information, conduct interviews, and arrange follow-up re-examination appointments.
- Maintain organized and accurate tenant files, ensuring documentation is current, complete, and properly recorded.
- Coordinate calendars for interviews, orientations, and other resident-facing appointments while providing timely updates to all parties.
- Draft clear and detail-oriented written communication, including letters, memos, and routine correspondence for applicants, residents, and internal teams.
- Support occupancy goals by assisting with outreach and marketing efforts designed to improve leasing activity and reduce vacancies.
- Interpret housing policies and regulatory requirements to help maintain compliance across leasing and occupancy activities.
- Respond to questions from residents, applicants, and property staff regarding procedures, documentation, and program rules while safeguarding confidential information. Requirements
- Experience in administrative, leasing, property management, or housing-related support work.
- Ability to review financial and household information with accuracy and strong attention to detail.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook for document preparation, tracking, and communication.
- Strong customer service and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly by phone, email, and in person.
- Comfortable managing a multi-line phone system, scheduling appointments, and handling a high volume of inquiries.
- Accurate data entry and file organization skills, including maintaining structured and confidential records.
- Ability to interpret policies, follow established procedures, and work effectively with property management teams.
