Job Description
Overview We are seeking a dynamic and motivated Leasing Consultant and Assistant Manager to join our property management team. This role offers an exciting opportunity to engage with prospective tenants, manage leasing operations, and support property management functions. The ideal candidate will possess strong customer service skills, a keen eye for detail, and experience with property leasing processes. You will play a vital role in ensuring smooth leasing activities, maintaining tenant relationships, and assisting with administrative and operational tasks to uphold the highest standards of property management excellence. Duties Greet prospective tenants and conduct property tours to showcase available units, highlighting features and benefits to foster enthusiasm and secure lease agreements. Manage lease or rental agreement processes, including application screening, credit checks, and lease signing procedures using property management tools like Yardi or OneSite. Maintain accurate records of leasing activities, tenant information, and legal documentation while ensuring compliance with Fair Housing regulations and landlord-tenant law. Assist in marketing efforts by upselling available units, coordinating advertising campaigns, and responding promptly to inquiries via phone or client communication channels. Support property maintenance coordination by communicating tenant requests, scheduling repairs, and ensuring facilities management standards are met. Handle conflict management situations professionally, mediating between tenants or resolving disputes efficiently while maintaining positive relationships. Contribute to budgeting activities by tracking leasing revenues and expenses; support team management through training new staff members and fostering a collaborative environment. Qualifications Proven experience in property leasing, real estate administrative work, or property management roles; familiarity with property management software such as Yardi or OneSite is highly desirable. Strong understanding of landlord-tenant law, Fair Housing regulations, LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit), Section 8 housing programs, and contracts related to leasing. Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively via phone etiquette and client relationship management techniques. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook) along with data entry and filing skills for efficient record keeping. Demonstrated ability in conflict management, negotiation, upselling techniques, and contract administration within a busy office environment. Experience with property maintenance coordination, facilities management practices, and CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) tools is a plus. Strong team management capabilities combined with administrative experience that supports seamless operations in a fast-paced setting.
