In person Job Description Garden Communities, a large and well-established real estate development and property management company, is seeking a professional, motivated, and customer-focused Leasing Agent for a residential apartment community in Florham Park, New Jersey. Prior residential leasing experience is preferred but not required. Candidates without direct leasing experience must have a strong background in customer service, hospitality, sales, front-desk operations, or another closely related customer-facing role, along with professional communication skills and strong transferable skills. The ideal candidate will be polished, personable, highly organized, and comfortable interacting with prospective and current residents. We are looking for someone who can build rapport, communicate clearly, follow up consistently, manage paperwork accurately, and learn the leasing process and property management systems. The successful candidate will bring a hospitality-focused approach to the position by being welcoming, attentive, responsive, and committed to creating a positive experience for every prospective and current resident. Responsibilities Welcome prospective and current residents in a professional, friendly, and courteous manner Provide a high level of customer service throughout the leasing and resident experience Respond promptly and professionally to telephone, email, online, and in-person leasing inquiries Provide accurate information regarding apartment availability, rental rates, community features, and leasing requirements Conduct apartment and property tours professionally and confidently Build rapport with prospective residents and maintain consistent follow-up Assist with rental applications, application verification, lease preparation, renewals, move-ins, and resident documentation Maintain accurate guest cards, leasing records, reports, leases, and resident files Maintain current knowledge of apartment availability, pricing, concessions, and upcoming vacancies Coordinate with property management and maintenance regarding apartment readiness and move-in dates Assist current residents with questions, concerns, and service requests Support the Property Manager with daily leasing and administrative responsibilities Assist with resident communications, marketing initiatives, community outreach, and events as needed Maintain an organized, professional, and welcoming leasing office Conduct all business in accordance with company policies, Fair Housing requirements, the ADA, the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and all other applicable laws Perform additional duties as assigned by the Property Manager Qualifications Prior residential leasing or property management experience preferred but not required Candidates without direct leasing experience must have a strong and clearly transferable background in customer service, hospitality, sales, front-desk operations, office administration, or another related customer-facing position Strong hospitality, customer service, communication, and relationship-building skills Professional, positive, dependable, and customer-focused Comfortable conducting tours, speaking with prospective residents, and following up with leads Strong sales ability and the confidence to guide prospective residents through the leasing process Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and follow-through Ability to multitask and prioritize responsibilities in a busy office environment Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office technology Yardi or other property management software experience preferred but not required Ability and willingness to learn leasing procedures and property management systems Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team Must be available to work Monday through Friday and weekends as needed Must be legally authorized to work in the United States Benefits 401(k) Dental insurance Health insurance Paid time off Vision insuranceWork Location:
