We are looking for a Leasing Agent to support a real estate development organization in Newark, New Jersey. This Long-term Contract opportunity is ideal for someone who combines strong resident-facing service skills with hands-on leasing experience, particularly within affordable housing environments. The role calls for a tech-savvy individual who can manage inquiries efficiently, communicate clearly across multiple channels, and deliver a positive experience throughout the leasing process.

Responsibilities:

• Guide prospective residents through the leasing journey, from initial inquiry to application follow-up, while providing timely and attentive service.
• Respond to high volumes of phone calls and email messages, resolving questions related to availability, applications, and resident concerns.
• Support leasing operations for affordable housing properties by explaining eligibility guidelines and assisting with required documentation.
• Use property management and leasing platforms such as Yardi or RentCafe to update records, track prospects, and maintain accurate applicant information.
• Navigate multiple browser-based systems at once to research account details, verify information, and complete leasing-related tasks efficiently.
• Troubleshoot basic connectivity or access issues that may affect communication with applicants or internal workflow tools.
• Maintain organized communication records and status updates to ensure smooth coordination with property teams and applicants.
• Deliver a customer-focused experience that builds trust with prospective residents and reflects a high standard of service in every interaction.
• Prior experience in residential leasing, preferably within affordable housing or income-restricted communities.
• Working knowledge of Yardi, RentCafe, or similar property management and leasing software.
• Strong customer service background with confidence handling call center-style volumes and resident inquiries.
• Ability to manage email correspondence accurately while balancing multiple priorities.
• Comfort using several browser windows and web-based tools simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
• Solid problem-solving skills, including the ability to address basic connectivity or system access issues.
• Clear verbal and written communication skills with a detail-oriented, service-oriented approach.
