CLOSING AGENT
—
YACHT AND SHIP TRANSACTIONS
Stuart, FL 34994 • Full-time, on-site • $50,000 - $75,000 a year The Job We are hiring a Closing Agent to run yacht and ship closings from executed contract through funding, transfer of title, and delivery. You will administer escrow, prepare and review closing documents, track survey and financing contingencies, order abstracts of title and lien searches, and coordinate lenders, documentation agents, surveyors, and closing attorneys. This is vessel closing work, not residential lending. If you have run title or escrow closings in another industry and want to learn the marine side, we will train the vessel-specific knowledge. What You Will Do Manage closing files end to end and keep every deadline visible to the broker and the client. Administer escrow under Florida yacht and ship broker trust account rules — deposits, disbursements, closing statements, reconciliation. Prepare bills of sale, closing statements, acceptance of vessel, and USCG documentation filings. Order abstracts of title and lien searches; secure payoff letters and satisfactions of preferred ship mortgage. Handle state titling and registration, sales and use tax, offshore closings, and cruising permits. Verify wire instructions and apply fraud-prevention controls on every transfer of funds. Keep records current in the company CRM and support Broker Liaisons on listings and contracts. Improve the closing process where you see a better way to do it. What You Need Three or more years in closings, escrow, or transaction coordination — marine brokerage, title, real estate, or financial services. Experience with escrow handling, disbursement, and payment verification. Accuracy under deadline across several files at once. Clear written and verbal communication with clients and outside professionals. Comfort with office software, e-signature, and document management tools. Ability to work on-site in Stuart, Florida. Helpful, Not Required Marine, yacht, or ship brokerage background. Familiarity with IYBA forms, USCG documentation, or Florida vessel titling and marine sales and use tax. Work with marine lenders or other secured lending. Florida notary commission. HubSpot or comparable CRM. About Us Spencer Christopher Yacht and Ship Inc. is an independent, veteran-owned yacht and ship brokerage in Stuart, Florida, serving the Eastern Seaboard, the Bahamas, and Costa Rica.
